Don’t expect anything there but very simple pans and very simple knives, an old stove and an old leaking fridge. Its more of a survival thing really-good if you are a student. If your child has food allergies, I highly recommend staying in the nearby town of Tankah Bay, you can check the Home Away pages and or VRbo and just rent a house ( there are many and the area is extremely safe) with a cook- believe me it is cheaper than staying in Tulum itself and it will save you a LOT of stress pollution and noise. I have stayed at a home owned by Americans, called Casa Azul and Casa Soleada, they are first line on the beach (as all the villas there) and their cooking/ cleaning staff is amazing. This I can wholeheartedly recommend it for a family vacation as I went there twice. In fact, I decided to stay in Tulum itself just for a change after three years of going to Tankah and I regretted it very much due to the fact that the place has undergone so many negative changes: Tulum is now overcrowded, overpriced and very polluted by construction, constant traffic, overflowing sewage and noise. Not a dream vacation anyway- best to nip out to catch lunch or dinner there but not for a pleasant and relaxing stay
