We were blown away by their service. We were two families and took the all inclusive package. Although the beach was filled with sea weeds, the resort folks tried their best to clean it up. We had a good time in the hotel, the breakfast...More
Good value and family friendly. I was attending a wedding with my 2 adult-kids and their families. My son knew to purchase the Concierge upgrade that provides family-friendly services (a suite, a separate pool, 1 restaurant and other family amenities). However, my wife and I...More

My Husband, my 22 month old (LO), and I enjoyed five nights at La Esmeralda last week. We had a great time! I will attempt to detail out as much as possible below. Three things to note – 1. This is the first all-inclusive we’ve...More
The resort is very nice but it has two sides,an adult side and a family side. The adult pool is very small for a resort and if you wanted a chair you literally had to get up at 5:30 am to reserve a chair. They...More

We have stayed in the "regular" rooms and the family concierge and I would highly recommend the family concierge. The rooms were identical, but they have a special private beach area with restrooms! The restaurant and family pool were great for breakfast/lunch and much closer than the other dinner restaurants.
The swim up rooms are linked to unheated pools which were much too cold for me. The family concierge was perfectly heated! The kids pirate ship pool is also unheated. We visited in December, so the sun didn't really heat things up enough for me. I'm sure most the year the unheated pools are refreshing!
Also, you can bring your own inflatable kid toys to make things even better if you have little ones. They sell some in the gift shop but we bought ours at the Mega (like walmart) in town for much less.
