What an amazing resort! We spent 7 days in this hotel at the beginning of October. The daily entertainment was great! The staff is what truly makes this a fantastic place to vacation. Food was good as well, there are different restaurants that you can choose from to eat. We especially loved the buffet, steakhouse and the Mexican restaurant. The beach is outstanding! The rooms are spotless! We will definitely come back!

The hotel itself is dated. The lobby was useless except for the checkin/checkout. The lobby bar even had the bottles removed from bar shelves overnight - what kind of lobby bar is that? The food at the lobby restaurant wasn't always fresh - looked like it was reheated/premade, not many healthy choices. The seafood was very chewy. Salads with mayonnaise.... all food was at level of 3-star hotel, not higher. No bathrobes in the room. No doors/privacy in the room's bathrooms area. Rooms are too small, dated, oye toilet leaked every overnight. Landscaping - plainly cut, no flowers or nice backgrounds for taking pics. Entertainment - very limited. We had musician on stage every 2nd night. Kids club - horrible Riuland song. The beach - wasn't cleaved off the seaweed till after 1pm, every day. So many vendors on the beach - it's terrible. Vendors are annoying and invasive. Don't feel safe when on the beach. But - great sand and ocean, just beautiful. Very many locals are visiting/staying at the hotel. English-speaking we're only about 20% of visitors, the rest were Spanish, at the time if our stay there. The staff are great and very accommodating. Nothing luxurious. Very basic experience. Wish we went somewhere else.

I am a BIG FAN of FUN in the SUN! I take my beach trips very personal because I work too hard for “2 vacations a year & 5-7 days of it to be wasted out of 365 days to “suck” Originally I was 50/50 and prayerful upon arrival after trying to understand the driver from Amstar who left our group confused when confirming his opinion on the resort with a “thumbs down” indication. Cons; I live for a luxury resort lobby every morning before breakfast and evening for entertainment, don’t we all? this resort lobby is older, no air conditioning, steamy hot, leave your makeup and extra clothing at home! The employees have multiple fans surrounded around them to keep them cool from the heat. It’s just crazy hot and the drinks keep coming to cool you off LOL! •Amstar took 3 hours to get us to this hotel from airport due to additional stops! Get a personal driver or a cab for the same price and get there in 30 min!!!! • there are two pools and the exciting pool seems to be located on the opposite side of the property. The first pool by lobby stayed quiet 24/7 there was no action, nothing going on, nothing that drew you to lobby pool at all! As a matter fact it’s scary if you’ve never been here and that’s all you SEE at FIRST is a Dead Silent pool on vacation! They should consider morning mimosas and foot massage, afternoon music, idk but something of anything then arriving daily to a very BIG EMPTY Silent pool. Upon arrival your first impression is “where did we book” and “dear lord I’m praying I used my AMEX” if you know AMEX then you know what I’m talking about. •Airline +Vacation Packages- are Lies! We actually heard people discussing exactly what we discussed with hotel management early that day. Purchasing your airline vacation package reads all kinds of Perks! When you think of Perks don’t you think of “things you use during vacation” nope, no way, how dare you ask to use the up to $850 in resort credit coupons! That can’t be used at the time of vacation and you have to figure how to use it the next vacation at the resort! The Spa Credit, Resort Coupons per room ( the additional details upon check in) are where they say “No” can’t be used on that vacation. Yes some serious false advertisement on packaged deals when purchasing online. Someone from the head corporation needs to look further into this advertisement and tell the truth when it can or can’t be applied or remove it all together and let the reviews sell the vision. •Standard room is typically very small for a family or mixed friends trip. No privacy in bathroom. Beds pushed together and just sad looking upon opening the door day one. PROS; it’s time for the GOODIES.. Management: AWESOME. Juan One of the best managers ever in HISTORY he’s only been at this property approximately two weeks from my understanding! And he Showed a lot of compassion to us after we expressed our concerns with the advertisements and room size for three (40 year old) adults. He upgraded our room for the entire trip at one set price and $under 200!! We stayed in #4201 and LOVED IT.. • the BEACH IS GORGEOUS • $5.00 for all three of us an entire stay for resort fees ($5.bucks) FEES, wow!! Awesome!! That’s the BEST We ever paid in resort fees in Mexico! LIVE AQUA is my favorite Mexico hotel in Cancun complete opposite side but we stay yearly and never paid under $200 bucks for resort fees! • hospitality is absolutely wonderful from every single service provider except the hostess at the steakhouse lol. • We are from Texas so we know Tex-Mex food and had no complaints on any of the buffets due to it taste exactly like home. Try every soup daily as it quickly became a favorite! • it appears Riu Yucatán is the hotspot as you are allowed to visit their sister properties but there’s no comparison at sister properties and the “pool parties” it’s all at this resort. • we never received a water down drink everything was delicious from top shelf to well options are offered! Don Julio was always ready when I ordered! •no timeshare pushy deals, no abundance in workers overtaking the beach while you relax! Yes people are wanting you to buy cheap tourist stuff but it’s not annoying as it could be abs you seen to always feel safe (that’s important) and the cheap pricing is worth the buy. • everything is buffet style. We enjoyed!! •covid safely steps are taken! •Leslie the from reception young lady was a sweet girl who helped us signup for FREE COVID testing in one of the Hotel ROOMS! Yup, hotel room is what I said. Although I’m a Aqua Live/ El Cid Marina timeshare holder I would definitely stay here AGAIN!!! Shoot I would even buy time share here LOL!! Juan ;hope this is spelled correctly because you deserve the recognition!!! Him and his team ALL Made this trip a five star!! Every single person who works on this property truly made it enjoyable!

My 7th time staying in different RIU hotels and this one was just as GREAT as all others. The staff was very friendly and they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. We even requested 2 bottles of wine for the room and within 10 minutes they were brought-up. The food in the menu restaurants was excellent. These folks know how to treat their guests!
