This is our fourth visit. Honestly it wasn't as good. Sure their are some good staff members who go beyond in service. But the food quality took a definite turn down. Breakfast was fine as was the snack bar. But evening meals, not good. Both the Italian an Mexican spend a lot of effort on presentation but fail in food...

A great resort with a personable and intimate atmosphere. Very conveniently located in Playacar south of Playa del Carmen. Easily within walking/biking distance to town and 5th Ave. Comfortable rooms that were cleaned daily, thanks to the attentive cleaning staff. Beds were comfortable, we had two double beds in our room, however queen size would have been better. The selection...

Ok, so It has been over 10 years since my last trip to mexico and the family went to Cancun back then. We did some searching and landed here in Playa Del Carmen at the Reef Playacar. And let me tell you, I am so glad we did. The hotel itself is not a hotel at all, The separate villas...

Good location, walking distance from the Quinta Avenida in Playa del Carmen. Positives: Lay-out of the rooms between the mangles and vegetation. Only hotel in Playa car with big umbrellas in the beach. Italian Restaurant is excellent! Negatives: Service quality is very average, quality of the food in the main restaurant very very bad, some waiters have a great attitude,...

Location was good. About 20 minute walk to Playa Del Carmen Downtown. Service was OK. Some employees didn't have the best attitude for a serviice industry position. But if you can deal with that, it is a decent value for the money. Rooms were large & clean. Beach was great! Food was just OK but I went there for value...

This is our 3rd trip to the Reef Playacar and we will be back. It's a beautiful area, and the walk to 5th avenue is only 12 minutes. All the staff was very pleasant, just need to work on buffet food options..

The resort is nice, small simple and fun. Good location (walking distance to Playa del Carmen, relatively close to Tulum, Akumal...), great friendly service and staff, good atmosphere. The restaurants/food was very good. Our room was a little bit old and outdated - requires some improvements. Only 1 TV channel in English

I loved everything about our stay at The Reef Playacar! My only complaint would be that when you first check in they pull you aside and try to get you to go to a 90 minute sales pitch where they will try to get you to buy one of their condos or a timeshare or something. Of course there's no...

The lands were extremely well kept- everytime we walked around the resort there were workers cleaning the walkways, the pools, sweeping up sand, cleaning windows, etc. It was nice to see how well cared for the resort really was. The rooms were average. Not the most comfortable bed and the bathrooms were rusty and old. The rooms also had a...
