My stay here was absolutely wonderful. The customer service was top tier, the best I've ever experienced in all of my travels. Jacky, Claudia, and Robert in the Spa were fantastic - super helpful and so kind. Alejandro in Guest Services always greeting me and asking me how my day was, making sure I got to my shuttles. Israel, my Bellman was so on top of everything! And the hostess Cyrel was an absolute gem of a human, the sweetest person ever. My waiter in the Mexican restaurant was incredible as well - I'm mad at myself for not writing down his name. I have some food allergies and he did such a great job of making suggestions, offering me substitutes, and helping me find things that were safe for me to eat. It really helped make the experience extra wonderful. The location in the city was great, perfect for wandering around. The shuttle made it easy to visit either of the other two properties. One had the best pools, the other had the best beaches. The restaurants were great. Loved sitting up on the roof to read a book, enjoying a drink, having some tacos. The music could get a bit loud at night, but it never bothered me. Room had great amenities. Bed was comfy, bathroom was really nice, AC was working great, there was also a ceiling fan. My room had a cool city view, with a distant view of the ocean. I got a couple welcome treats that were a great surprise :) The spa was fantastic. Probably my favorite part. This vacation was very much about relaxing and recouping for me. I had two spa days and loved every minute. If you're getting a treatment, you get to go hang out earlier and use the hydrotherapy pools, sauna, etc. Absolutely wonderful. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my stay, with my choice, and would absolutely visit this property or one of the sister properties again in the future. The wifi was a bit spotty on occasion, and it was a little hard to tell who your server was up at the roof bar sometimes (there's just a lot of people and movement up there) but absolutely never had bad service. Great bang for the buck. Totally recommend booking the roundtrip shuttle for the airport in advance. It was SO nice to just walk out and look for my name on a sign, and avoid all the taxi area chaos. This is the funnest hotel! We had an absolute blast. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The rooftop pool was awesome and so much fun. The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Marco, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing trip.

Firstly, let me start with I opened a TripAdvisor account just so I could rave about this resort. Secondly, I've been a bar manager in San Francisco for 6 years, so I pay attention to all the little details. Ok, now let's get to the review. Upon arriving I was greeted with a glass of champagne while we were finishing up checking in. We had arrived early so they were cleaning up the room for us. They suggested that we go to one of the restaurants within the resort (we had an all-inclusive pass). I wish I could remember the name of the server who helped us but he was polite, friendly, and attentive....Oh, and the food was delicious 🤤 When we were brought up to our room there was a birthday cake made of towels, rose petals, and a beautiful dessert (we were visiting for my birthday). I feel bad because I don't remember our concierge's name, but once I remember it I'll post it in the comments, he was so welcoming, informative, and funny. He was one of the best concierge I've met. He helped us book outings as well as giving us information about the area. My favorite thing was the rooftop bar. All the servers and bartenders were great. They remembered our drinks, they were outgoing, all in all, they we're definitely a vibe. One server stood out the most though. PACO. This guy is truly a gem & I wish I could steal him away and have him come work for me. As soon as we started getting low on drinks, he was on top of it, I don't think I had to wait more than 5 minutes for a drink. He went above and beyond any and all expectations I have. He didn't get annoyed or impatient with my almost embarrassingly picky friend. Paco was outgoing and funny. He had us smiling & laughing every time we were up there. He made us really feel welcome. Dude was a superstar⭐. We are planning another trip to Mexico in April. Normally we try not to go to the same place twice just so we can experience different things. Very nice adults-only hotel. No kids, no pets - big plus! Nice pool on rooftop, even nicer pool on the bottom, at the spa. Good feature is free bus travel to other properties - Reef CoCo beach and Reef Playacar.

The pros. Reef 28 is in a perfect location to enjoy 5th Avenue. Just one block from shopping, entertainment, and dining. The resort has to be the cleanest resort we have ever stayed at. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of choices and wonderful morning staff. The cons. 28 is an over 18 resort, not an adult resort. They promote a relaxing, romantic getaway. In truth, the resort is a techno nightclub with rooms. They cater to the affluent young locals, with bone pondering techno music on the rooftop. Now the pool is on the roof, so if you are lucky enough to find a spot to enjoy the sun, you will also find yourself blasted with music. The party goes on into the early hours, and the music funnels through the resort into the rooms. Swimming wasn't an option we considered as after the late night party, the pool and dipping pools were full of "jellyfish". We watched and gagged as staff used a net to scoop these globs out of the pool. Service for drinks and snacks was nonexistent for the non affluent locals. The restaurants were good. However, the portions were very small. Management at the resort seemed indifferent to the issues. Even after returning home and contacting them, they still have the "oh well" attitude. Had it not been for the ability to use the sister hotels to lounge in the sun and enjoy adult beverages, it would have been one of the worst vacations we've ever taken. …
