A nice place but we can't conceive why this is rated #1. We had three issues; somewhat start interior w/no comfortable in room seating; not much 'life' (it's a small facility); and the location about 6 or 7 long blocks to the Zocola. The owner, Mel, is very accommodating. We would prefer to be closer in to the limited downtown...

Read the reviews, they say it all! My wife and I were on a business trip finalizing renovation plans for our new/old house in Merida. We really just wanted a place to stay for the week while attending meetings. To our enjoyment, we received a lot more than just a bed. Right from the start we were welcomed as if...

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Hotel Julamis in the beginning of March 2012. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the hosts are. Mel went above and beyond, not only for us, but for the other guests as well. We have been to Merida before, but this was our first time at Julamis. We will definitely be...

I can't say enough positive things about this place. We stayed there in January for one night on our way through to our rental property in Uaymitun. Arrived at 10:30 at night and Mel got out a map to show us where there were some good restaurants within walking distance. Decided to just crash after the long day of travel....

Nothing is too much trouble in this clean, well run and welcoming little hotel.Pleasant roof terrace and access to the internet help make this a good place to stay but it is the helpfulness and friendliness of Mel and his partner which make this hotel special.

There is nothing more I can say that hasn't already been said but if you are thinking of heading to Merida then you have to do yourself a favour and stay at Hotel Julamis! We were fortunate enough to stay at this lovely little boutique hotel for 3 nights in early Feb/12. Our room was Suite Corazon, with a very...

I have been traveling around the world since 1967 (ya, that might be an old geezer to you) and I have slept in hundreds of hotels around the world. My wife and I are convinced that Hotel Julamis, corner of Calle 53 & Calle 54, just 7, very walkable blocks from the Plaza Grande in Merida, capitol of the Yucatan...

We stayed 2 nights in room El Ramon and 2 nights in room Kabah and both rooms were great. We especially liked the Kabah room ! Mel and Eddie are exceptional hosts, providing excellent recommendations for the areas restaurants, beaches and anything that you needed advice about. Breakfast was so yummy, great coffe and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere to start...

The rooms are large and lovely, with hand-painted gardens behind the beds. The bathrooms are excellent. The breakfasts are light, tasty and more than enough to get you going in this attractive city. It is such a comfortable small hotel, which is recognizable the minute you walk in the front door and are greeted by Mel or Eddie. You can...
