Five of us were at the Mia Reef March 18-25. We booked through Book-It. We paid about $1250 per person including air from Detroit on Spirit (non stop). I did my reservation separate and had a tower room with no view - I had "Deal of the Day" on my confirmation and that means "BASIC". The others had a balcony...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Mia Reef for a random vacation in March, and we loved it!! Now, looking at the resort website, it does sound like a 5-star resort, but that's why you come to Tripadvisor to get honest reviews. It wasn't the fanciest or best maintained facility, but there were so many amazing things we loved about...

An outstanding getaway for a long weekend. Christopher was outstanding helping with pre- trip planning. Front desk was warm and welcoming. Absolutely loved Roberto at the ceviche hut and the spa was terrific. Looking forward to returning soon. A truly lovely solo trip in an amazingly beautiful getaway!

We visited Isla Mujeres for the island time music festival. This hotel was a great place to stay for location and convenience. It was a nice surprise that this hotel was an all-inclusive, with plenty of the food & drinks, great food selections for everyone, freshly served all day. The smaller cabana near suites had excellent ahi tostadas & fish...

Getting to the resort from the airport is a bit of a chore. I had done some research and booked a transportation company to take us to the ferry and arranged for them to have round trip ferry tickets already purchased for us. $90 USD round trip, well worth it. We decided to walk to Mia from the ferry....this was...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mia! Not sure where to start, there are so many things about it we loved. The water and views are truly amazing. We swam and snorkeled on the beach and in kings bath. The water is so clear it's hard to believe it isn't a pool. The staff was so kind and friendly, we...

I almost don't want to post this review to keep folks from visiting because I want it all to myself. We loved Isla and Mia. I'll mention the not so great things first. A lot of folks here have said they were greeted with drinks at check in. We missed out on that. 😢. I'm just jealous. We also reserved...

I have been to the Island Many times and this is the first time I've stayed at Mia. I normally stay at the small boutique Hotel Rocamar so this was a big change for me. I stayed in the newly renovated villas which were lovely. I did not eat onsite but did enjoy sunset drinks at the bar which was...

We visited the MIA Reef Beach Club twice during our week stay on Isla Mujeres. We stayed at a small hotel on Hildago Avenue and traveled to different beaches and beach clubs each day. There is a 600 peso/person charge per day. Well worth it! This runs from morning - 6pm. Includes all drinks, lunch buffet, beach BBQ & ceviche...

We have stayed here many times starting when it was avalon reef, it has gotten sooooo much better. It is remodeled and really a great place to stay for couples or families. The staff was nice and very helpful. We had great experiences with the spa. The food was better than it has ever been. This time we actually saw...

Daytona Beach, Florida

Why does Mia Reef management not respond to the complaints and negative comments in the one star reviews on TA, the comments about boring, bland food, the limited selection, the lack of quality steak, the almost nonexistant amount of shrimp and lobster available, the watered down "swill" liquors on the Mia Reef joke of an "all inclusive resort menu"?

Why does management only respond to compliments and praise from guests who have obviously never visited a "real" 4 or 5 star all inclusive resort in Mexico or the Dominican Republic?

How about a response to Mia Reef's constant violation of its timeshare members contracts?

Mia Reef Isla Mujeres is forcing its vacation club (timeshare) members to pay a mandatory all inclusive fee of $966 USd per week, in addition to their $600-700 annual maintenance fee. I have seen the contracts of the vacation club members and their contract clearly states that the all inclusive is Optional!

How does Mia Reef Isla Mujeres justify violating its members' contracts and having the audacity to state that "it, (Mia Reef Isla Mujeres) has the right to pick and choose what parts of the contract it accepts? At the same time Mia Reef states that the vacation club contract holders are required to fulfill the entire contract. Mia Reef insists its members pay their annual maintenance fees even though Mia Reef will not allow their vacation club members to use their resort accomodations without paying this all inclusive fee? And Mia Reef wants the extra $966 to be paid in advance! This is "EXTORTION", pure and simple!

Is Mia Reef unaware that contract law is contract law, and a contract cannot be changed unilaterally?

It seems that Mia Reef is a big bully that is taking advantage of a large group of senior citizens who paid thousands of dollars for this vacation club membership. Mia Reef Isla Mujeres is hiding behind the Mexican border, foolishly thinking that it is immune to American and Canadian lawsuits!
