Have stayed with Lucy and her family every time I've gone to Isla and would never stay anywhere else. It's like staying with family. Regardless of what you need, Lucy and Juan will do anything they can to accommodate you. The price point should make you realize that it's not luxurious, but rather, a clean and safe place to lay... Hotel Carmelina is centrally located on a side-street on the north end of Isla Mujeres. Nearby conveniences include a good Padi-certified dive shop, supermarket (to buy cold bottled water) & laundromat. The ferry wharf is about 150m away, and north beach about 200m. We had a small double-bed room for 3 nights with air conditioning, ceiling fan & separate bathroom.... More

The only thing we wanted to do was to get out of the room ASAP.... Maybe all the rooms are not the same but our was awful ... La peggiore camera della mia vita pagata 700 pesos .... Un tugurio! La pire chambre de ma vie, sombre, AC tres bruyant, installations vielles et pas entretenues...

My Wife and I came to Isla Mujeres from Cancun to relax for a couple of days. We had no reservations and were walking around checking out lodging possibilities. We are glad the Hotel Carmelina was one of the places we checked out. It had AC, Refrig, Small flat screen TV, and WiFi. All for 500 Peso's. The Bed was... More

We checked in because our hotel did not respect our reservation. The place is about 700 pesos for a double bed room. Sort of clean but could be much better but for the price we were not expecting too much. We needed bikes and the lady that the front said that they were 40 peso I assumed they were for... More

Hotel Carmelina was a clean, quiet, well located budjet accommodation in Isla Mujeres. We visited many other places too, but this was the best in this price category. In low season we paid 400 MXN for a double room with a shower, air-con and wi-fi. As a nice bonus every room has a small terrace.

Perfect well located just off the main street and and mere seconds from the awesome Playa Norte which is the best best. Its right behind the local OXXO which is like the 7-11. The hotel is super cool and has wifi along with aircon, TV, fridge, en suite shower and bathroom and they change the sheets daily. Priced at $25... More

Checked in and paid on arrival for two nights. When checking out we were told to pay again, as we had only been charged for one night. Ended up costing $700 pesos per night. Misleading. Wifi is intermittent and bathrooms a bit dirty (toilet hard to flush). Otherwise nice spacious rooms with air con.

We stayed at Hotel Carmelina for three nights. Expect the basics here but done well - it's a pretty inexpensive deal, so bathrooms ARE clean, but aren't perhaps what you'd hope for in terms of being new. TV and aircon all worked well. We thought the location was great - well out of the way of the main tourist strip... More
