First, this resort is for "the traveler" not "the vacationer". If you are looking for a cultural experience that will be comfortable, warm, inviting and relaxing then casita de maya is the place for you. Dan was a great host. He led you on the right direction for what your needs were. Diego's road side stand for breakfast everyday was...

Stayed here for 3 nights while doing a dive course on Cozumel. Great owner Dan goes out of his way to let you know the "local" hangouts and tips, and Erik his assistant is friendly and helpful. Dan's dog even "guarded" us on our way to Diego's food stand! ;) The cat was less solicitous but always up for a...

Our 10 day stay here was quite wonderful. Dan the owner is a perfect host who knows the island inside and out, gave us great recommendations for restaurants (Hello Diego and Ray from El Moro) as well as interesting places to see. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The...

We were at Casita de Maya for 3 nights over the holidays - it was the very first time that we were able to walk out of an airport and walk to our hotel. Although the airport is so close you really do not hear the planes. As soon as we made it to the hotel we were greeted by...

It is hard to add to the wonderful descriptions of the experience of Casita de Maya but I feel compelled to add my voice to the chorus singing its praises. The courtyard of the hotel immediately became a "living room" where there was as much privacy and community as one desired. Dan the owner and Erik his assistant made us...

We've been blessed to travel often and consider ourselves travelers vs tourists. We've stayed at properties that are so beautiful they take your breath away. This is one of the very few trips where we were affected by the love of the people. Casita de Maya is a place you either 'get' or you don't. This is the place for...

We had the benefit of all of the reviews written by all of the travelers before us about Casita de Maya, we chose it because of those reviews. But our experience exceeded the high expectations we already had! Here are a few of the things that were special: -- In a small cozy place like this, the other guests are...

I stayed there, believing that this hotel would provide a comfortable night as people say in Tripadvisor... Reality... it is not. Simply too faraway from Centro. You have to take a cab to get anywhere from here. Beach? You have to rent a car. Very far. I expected to have a good holiday stay there, but the ambiance was so...

We did not know exactly what to expect when we arrived at Casita de Maya. We made our choice to do something totally different this vacation instead of the All Inclusive path which we are tired of. Our choice was based on the very positive reviews the hotel had from previous guests, so we trusted those that visited before very...

It really deserves its first place on tripadvisor for Cozumel. We really loved it there. The rooms are very sweet and cosy. There is a small pool, which is also very nice. The service xas also very good. We couldn't ask for more. Although it is far from the center (but close to the airport), the taxi is very cheap...
