Spent the last day of our tour at the Mayaland hotel. It is located next to the Chichen Itza site (the hotel owns the land the ruins are on). If you can, try to get the rooms at the front of the main hotel with views towards the Mayan Observatory - you will have awesome sunset and sunrise vistas to...

We used to own the site.... My grandfather donated the grounds back in 1944. Our family has owned and operated The Mayaland for a Century. We all appreciate your nice comments and your stay with us. Hasta la vista !

Breakfast is not included. Rooms are spectacular, authentic, huge, amazing views of the ruins. The 2 pools are large enough for lap swims. The gardens are beautiful. The buffet lunch is a great deal. But the restaurant is a joke: minuscule portions and slow service. Have dinner at villa archéologiques, 100 yards away.

Our 3-generation family spent 3 nights in a bungalow on this gorgeous property during a trip across the Yucatan Peninsula. Everyone was happy and found something to love about the Lodge at Chichen-Itza. Also, as other travelers have pointed out, this is hands down the best way to see the ruins. Our trip was to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday;...

We stayed at the Mayaland for two nights to visit Chichen Itza. I recommend seeing the ruins like this rather than squeezing in a day trip from another location. Like all other reviews suggest, you can access the ruins from the hotel property and avoid the busloads that arrive at the main gate. Also, you can tour the ruins first...

We stayed at Mayaland for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon to Mexico. We stayed in a bungalow which was lovely. Our first night there the hotel was very quiet and we really felt like we were alone in the jungle which was wonderful. The hotel, grounds and pools were all beautiful and maintained to a very high standard....

We spent two nights here so that we could see Chichen Itza at a leisurely pace; the hotel has its own private entrance to the site. The Mayaland grounds are lush, a jungle paradise. The main hotel rooms overlook the Mayan observatory. Ours was a superior double on the third floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom and bathroom offer a...

We wanted to visit the Chichen Itza archaeological site on a recent visit to Mexico. Most tours out of Cancun arrived during the heat of the day. Experience taught us not to to expose ourselves to such heat. We chose to stay 2 nights and found Mayaland Resorts. It was a wise choice. It is next to the site and...

The Mayaland Hotel and Bungalows offer everything you could possibly want in a nice property. It is clean and beautiful. It has a nice swimming pool. The hotel staff are outstanding. The property is on the back side of the Mayan ruins and has an entrance there. It is a really convenient location. At night the rainforest comes alive. You...

We went there to see the ruins and for the buffet that is put together by the hotel. We also attended the film that is shown in the observatory. Overall I would recommend the experience especially if you go see the ruins it compliments the overall experience.

Hopefully this will be a Good review for families I think! I want to re-review this hotel from a parent's perspective - though my time there was a year ago, and solo - I'm so looking forward to bringing my daughter there at the beginning of May. I confess to not staying elsewhere in the area but I come back...
