Laid out around the hacienda hotel has beautiful gardens which incorporate some of the remnants of the former buildings. The central area with the dining room and reception is incorporated into the hacienda itself. The rooms are bungalows and there are 2 rooms to a bungalow. The only oddity was that one room has the front external porch as its...

It certainly is a good first impression when you slump into a comfy chair at reception in the hotel and there is the soothing sound of a water fountain in the background and a trio of musicians accompanying those already at dinner, and then Jose Luis says, as greeting, “Welcome home.” Bliss. Already disappointed that our stay is only one...

This is a small, boutique-ish hotel, its rooms/bunglaows nestled among the trees of carefully-tended grounds surrounding an historic main house, where the lobby and restaurant are located. In this, it's in stark (and pleasant) contrast to the larger hotels nearby. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and well maintained. Of particular note is the excellent staff. The are pleasant, welcoming,...

We only went here for lunch after a visit of Chichen Itza. What a lovely qiet and idyllic hacienda! Sitting outside on the porch with enjoyable food and attentive service. Away from the crowd craze of the pyramid. Nice one!

Although this hotel is located extremely well with a private entrance to the ruins, the grounds are exquisite and our room was large and lovely the front desk staff (and I mean desk) was not friendly, unhelpful and boarding on rude. Certainly not Mexican in spirit. In addition, We booked through Bookings.com and our confirmation said no deposit would be...

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry you felt that your welcome at the hotel was not what you expected. Maya people are discreet and show respect by being humble. We're sorry you misunderstood their attitude. In some parts of Mexico people are more outgoing, Yucatan people are normally discreet and quiet. As in many boutique hotels, it's the...

This is one of the most special places I have stayed. The beautiful gardens and the historic buildings create a special place I have rarely experienced. And being walking distance from the ruins allows you to avoid all the crowds and headaches of the tourists.

We stayed overnight after visiting Chichen Itza. The site is within walking distance which is practical. The hacienda is set in a vast garden with the reception and dining and sitting rooms, while the rooms are in bungalows of two rooms spread around the garden. The rooms are simple but pleasant and on arrival flowers have been scattered on the...

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. While pricy (especially for the region), the hotel arranged for our private walking tour of the ruins - the best historic tour I've ever had. Our local guide was so well versed in the geology, archaeology, meteorology, botany, mythology and anthropology - I felt like I learned such a comprehensive and fascinating...

Probably the best food we've eaten this trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor patio seating and excellent service. Arrachera, chicken entree and enchiladas were excellent and they had a delicious limeade.

This boutique style hotel is set in the jungle, a short walk from the ruins. Small bungalows are divided into 3 or 4 rooms, each with a terrace and chairs/hammock outside. The lavatory/shower area is partitioned from the bedrooms, but the wall doesn't reach the ceiling, so not wholly private. There is an extensive area of jungle and gardens around,...

Thank you for your comments. We hope you can return soon to stay in our boutique hotel. Just a brief note, the wall doesn't reach the ceiling due to the special design of our eco-friendly rooms. The humidity is very high in Yucatan so, we decided to keep this design in order to have a good air circulation. Gratefully, Hacienda...
