We recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be very central for the ado bus terminal and local stuff in the downtown area . If your looking for flashy go to the hotel zone . The hotel is leafy and pleasant with a very relaxed feel . Staff are helpful. There is a 24 hr chemist and doctor...

This was truly an oasis from hectic and stressful travel. It was pretty quiet and I felt safe. The hammock by the pool was delightful! Lots of lush plant life and non-linear paths gave it a fun adventure feel. It was a convenient walking distance from the bus station and several restaurants.

We stayed at El Rey del Caribe for just one night during our Mexico trip, before an early morning flight out of Cancun. As we had been staying in Playa del Carmen, we were able to catch the ADO bus and walk to El Rey. It is only a short walk, but a bit of a treacherous one unfortunately, and...

Very well run hotel with beautiful rooms and gorgeous tropical plants and art in the city of Cancun. Good Value too. It is an older hotel but kept up very well with a few exceptions but nothing major. Air conditoner requires a key which they give you welded to the room key so no wasted electricity when you venture forth....

Our family of four enjoyed our visit here. Spent 3 nights total. The premises are very peaceful with all rooms opening to the lush garden and patio including hammocks & swimming pool. The staff was welcoming and helpful - we felt at home! The breakfast was always delicious. Rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable -- especially the beds & pillows!...

This place is 'very good'. Easy check in, clean room, decent breakfast, and close to the bus station. While in many cities, the area around the bus station is sometimes a bit seedy. But in this case, there are several restaurants within in walking distance or a short cab ride. Highly recommend the local experience. I noticed that my room...

Good morning and thank you for commenting on your stay. The kitchens inside the rooms, has a refrigerator, stove, sink and table with chairs, when one is going to cook you can ask for a complete kit of kitchen in reception. The kitchen equipment has no cost, the refrigerator is disconnected and we keep it clean, consuming electric current would...

Near the junction of the busiest streets in Cancun lies a quiet small attractive hotel with an inner garden of trees and a pool--an oasis in the city. Walking in we were greeted warmly by Martha. Our standard double room on the 2nd floor was spacious with comfy king bed, flat screen tv, mid sized kitchen fridge and sink and...

We stayed here while traveling through Cancun and liked it so much we booked again for the return trip. The hotel is very eco friendly which we like, but is also very comfortable, has a great free breakfast and the grounds are very soothing. Great place in central Cancun to stay.

Returning to El Rey del Caribe for a second visit, I brought my sister with me this time, and she was as impressed as I. She spent long hours in a hammock by the pool, reading a book or watching the birds and lizards who visited the garden, or exploring the residential neighborhood nearby. (Meanwhile, I was having extensive dental...
