Just got back from our vacation at The Residence at Moon Palace Nizuc. As always, the service was excellent, but this time it was even superior. We wanted for nothing. Our butlers Randy & Osvaldo, as well as their "trainee" Teresa, went out of their ways to make this an unforgettable experience for all of us. We even had a Chef's dinner and an impromptu Taco bar lunch, prepared to perfection by Chefs Guillermo and Sagrario respectively. Our server Damián was amazing. The place was always kept up and immaculate by our housekeepers Salomé and Carlos. We had a fabulous Wine tasting event with Sommelier Andrés. Of course, we don't want to forget our Concierge Praxedis, who made all our events, and arrangements possible. Luis and Ricardo, at the golf course, as always, provide such superb service. Our yacht excursion was so much fun and the service provided by the crew with Captain Pedro, Sofía, Oscar and Alan was amazing as was the food prepared by the Le Blanc Chef. This was such a luxurious, stress free and over the top vacation. We cannot say enough good things about it.

This was our second time staying at Moon Palace Sunrise. We had a great time. We participated in many of the resort activities, put on by the entertainment team (shout out to Paola, Alex and Mario for being awesome). They have exercise classes, games and live music at the activity pool at the center of the resort. My son had a great time at the FlowRider learning to surf, the instructors there were fantastic, especially Caesar. The food and drinks are wonderful. We also loved all the restaurants. Our favorite was Los Corporalas (Authentic Mexican) and Momo (Asian). The buffet Bugambilias was also wonderful for breakfast and lunch. The staff is always eager to please, we had amazing waiters, Jhonny, Adrian V, Juventino and Diego went out of their way to make our meal time lovely. Jesus makes the best omelettes for breakfast and he does so with a smile! Overall the staff went out of their way to serve and make our time at the Palace so wonderful. We will go back for sure.

I booked for 4 rooms for November 2021, 2 rooms canceled 2 months prior to travel due to Covid. They still haven't got refund and taking time pretending they are issuing checks. I love going there Moon palace The grand and I'm even a member!!!! They are not answering me for future booking either, (I am planning on next trip 5 months later, 3 rooms with 7 people. booking quote for $15,000 USD) I'm so disappointed and seeking to take a legal action.

We typically stay at the Moon Grand however this trip we tried Nizuc. We found the pools are to be less busy than the Grand or Sunrise with the same excellent service as the Grand. While the pools, restaurants, golf and shows are top notch the service made the trip all that more memorable. Our pool concierges Miguel Arizmendi, Jesus Cruz, Jose Antonio, Juan Carlos Plata made us feel at home and were so hospitable. The Olympic pool at the Grand had tons of fun activities. Jose M., Adolfo , Carlos P., Adulberto, Oscar, Rashid, Ricardo Pende, Yolanda and Abigail provided superb service and always has smiles on their faces. Don't forget to take advantage of the free bus to the Beach Palace in the hotel zone. Your wristband allows you to use all of Beach palace for free. It has a large infinity pool and a fabulous beach. The top of the hotel has 2 pool and the best view of Cancun. Its an incredible spot for photos. For those that want to shop, the Beach Palace is a short bus or cab ride to a high end mall or the Mexican Market. We can't wait to return to the Moon Palace in the spring!

I stayed at Moon Palace Sunrise with my family for a week in August 2022 and would summarise my stay as follows Summary The facilities are nice but the effort/battle required by the guest to fully enjoy the resort is not worth the high rates charged. Positives - Best meal of the week was at Agra restaurant at Sunrise. Omar Acevedo, Restaurant Manager, did a great job in offering us a reservation after we waited 45 mins outside the restaurant, because Roberto in Guest Relations did not prior book us a table despite agreement we had with Roberto that this would be done. Once in the restaurant, the food was authentic, high quality from starters all the way through deserts and live music to provide a traditional Indian feel to the restaurant. We were well waited-on by Felipe Lopez and Carlos Enrique - Ana Martha, manager of the Bugambilas Buffet at Sunrise sets the example of the quality of customer care I expect for a resort like this. Nothing is too difficult for Ana or her team through the week of our stay, and Ana showed great attention to detail to ensure our allergies to meat where seamlessly picked-up every time we showed up to the restaurant for breakfast. Thank you to Manuel, hostesses Karla, Lizzet and Yozune and waiters Sergio, Fermin and Manuel for their care during the weak – Ana made arrangements for our breakfasts to be prepared separately away from meat which I greatly appreciated. - Lilia and Brisia at the Sunrise Spa provided outstanding massage services and are both excellent in what they do - The Concierge Team in the mobile App were immediately responsive and would dispatch Engineers to our Presidential Suite every time the lights went out, or if I needed help fixing a suitcase that had broken – great effort by the App Team and thanks to the engineers who fixed all problems including the suitcase promptly Things to work on - The resort was extremely busy with more people than there are facilities which means the expectations of availability of services is limited - Example of this was the unsuccessful attempts by our group to get a reservation at JC Steakhouse on any of the 7 nights we stayed at the resort – on one occasion I even changed plans to be on the phone exactly for 10am when slots opened up for 48 hours later, only to be told nothing was available for my group. When I eventually complained to Guest Relations Sunrise for this, I was referred to Viviana who leads Member Guest Relations given we have membership status. Viviana explained that reservations are prioritized for those with higher memberships than ours and that nothing could be done to help us obtain a reservation at JC Steakhouse during our stay – this was a disappointing outcome after an hour of my time to try and make this happen. - Even the smallest process or change is a difficult undertaking at Moon Palace Resorts. On one occasion we visited the Grand, it took staff at the Grand over an hour to provide us with day-passes which are administered in an old-fashioned way on paper, and the Customer Services Team at the Grand also managed to double charge us for taking a full hour to provide us with passes. The double-charging was rectified, but again cost a further 30 minutes to resolve. - I wanted to amend our Transfer time from resort to airport by an hour and discussed this with Miguel in Sunrise Guest Relations who said he would not help me with this, except that I would need to pay again for a new taxi for the time required. Miguel refused to flex the existing transfer time and said Palace Resorts would not pay for any rescheduled transfer from hotel to airport. Overall, I feel Moon Palace should ensure the numbers of guests it welcomes all receive outstanding service – this was my third trip to Moon Palace with 2014 being the first and 2018 the second. I have seen a decline in overall service over this time.

I really hate to give this review, but I really want to give my honest opinion of our recent family stay of 7 x adults and 1 x child at Moon palace Sunrise given the extreme amount of money this holiday cost for 14 nights. Cons - Sunbeds, unless you are down at 7am, you will not get anymore than 2 Sunbeds together, if that ! Terrible situation for such a massive pool resort. Restaurant booking, in the 14 night stay we had, we tried soooo many times to book the " book only" restaurants by phoning at 10am, and through the Place App, and only ever got 1 booking, despite complaining to guest relations. That system just doesn't work. All restaurants should be 1st come 1st served, or even just wait, we didn't mind waiting, even an hour or more to be seated. Staff, some staff were pleasant , but a lot of staff were very rude, and intolerant, seemed to just want TIPS TIPS TIPS, but no service in return. This tipping cos wages are bad is definitely a MYTH ! The price of the holiday, and the price of extras, wages could not be that bad,you do not get any better service by tipping. Onsite shop, SCANDALOUS prices, bring everything you may need , cause EVERYTHING is 3 x times the price of back home, RIP OFF. Bellboy staff rude and unhelpful. Swim up bar staff more interested in serving Mexican visitors 1st Pro's food and drinks good for an all inclusive Housekeeping excellent Vacation planners very helpful Lobby bar staff brilliant Room service staff polite beautiful pools beautiful rooms

Be very careful with information and promises that are represented to you. Obtain everything in writing. We were told that because of COVID that our remaining 2 free weeks that were contracted to expire in June 2022 could be booked and used up until the end of the year (2022) since we had lost so much time to use them because of COVID, especially since we had 8 family members that unfortunately got COVID (all staggered over a period of a year), and we all know that from early 2020 through early 2022 there was very little opportunity to travel due to the pandemic. We were told over the phone: "Don’t worry, we understand, the Palace will make exceptions on the dates because of COVID. We will work with you. You will at least have until the end of the year (2022) to use these weeks, maybe even longer. Don't worry about what the contract says, COVID is changing everything." I asked if this could be sent in an email and again I was told, no worries, get healthy and then when COVID isn't so bad call back and rebook. It was also explained that our two free weeks could be combined and used as one week in the new Cabo hotel. So from that day on we planned to travel for one week in the fall of 2022 to celebrate our 25th anniversary since we originally got married in Cabo. We made the assumption that the Palace would honor this promise. However that was not the case when we tried to book the planned trip to Cabo in July, just days after the contracted expiration date of June 2022. Since the moment we were told that we would have until the end of 2022 to book and use them, and that we could combine our remaining 2 weeks into 1 week to stay at the Cabo Palace resort, that had been our plan to celebrate our anniversary. We are shocked at the way we have been treated. We will never stay in another Palace resort again. They have just lost all future business from our family, a very large family at that. We have stayed in many of the Palace resorts and have spent thousands of dollars at these resorts bringing extended family members, etc. The customer service received on this issue has been horrible and we feel as if we have been purposefully tricked into waiting to book them in the fall of 2022 instead of prior to June 2022. We wonder how many other people they have done this to as well. Every reputable hotel, and even all the airlines, made good on their promises for extensions due to the pandemic. This was not the treatment we expected from the Palace. Be very careful with any transaction that you make with them. Very disappointing. They have lost all future business from our family.

We have just returned from 2 amazing weeks. Stayed in the Nizuc which is quieter than Sunrise and would say less busy. Although, we went to Sunrise many times. Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Lovely comfortable bed and nice size shower along with the huge bath. We managed to go to every restaurant and had no problem getting booked in with them. The Italian at the Golf and Spa is out of this world. Food is delicious wherever you decide to eat and will always have a choice of many dishes. Hotel/bar staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for you. Boris and Lesley in the main pool work extremely hard and are good fun and brighten up your day. Lots of excursions to go on. We went on the turtle and cave swimming which I would recommend. The only downside is the beach (which is not the hotels fault) due to a tropical storm, it has brought tons of seaweed in and they are tirelessly trying to remove it,so you cannot swim in the sea. Thank you for amazing 2 weeks, we cannot fault it and are currently looking at Moon Palace in Jamica.

Excellent place to visit and enjoy with the family. Samuel the bar tender at the main lobby bar was excellent very knowledgeable with all the drinks . Every day he recommended something different at the hotel. I give this place 5 stars. Very friendly atmosphere.

Overrated and won't stay here again. Staff were hit or miss. When the staff member was nice they were really nice, otherwise many just had the "can't be bothered" approach to whatever work they were doing. The place is massive and we stayed in Nizuc. They offered us 2 day passes to The Grand if we did a "seminar lunch" with a sales person for 90 minutes... which was more like 4 hours and had the most extreme shark sales people experience of our lives. Not worth the 2 days of "free pass" in my opinion. The beach was full of seaweed and had a bit of a stench to it so no one ever swam into it. The pools luckily were nice... although Nizuc had the smallest pools. Sunrise had the best overall pools and restaurant varieties. Restaurants in Nizuc were average in taste... Mexican Brazilian and international buffet... none a stand-out. Also the wait times were crazy sometimes over an hour... not ideal with a young family. Restaurants in sunrise were a tad better. Any restaurant required booking was impossible to get to or the app just never worked.. we were never able to book despite trying everyday for the 10 days being there. Kids room was tiny in Nizuc, better in sunrise and no doubt even better in The Grand. We paid for an upgrade to the Governers Suite ($5k more in AUD). Room was spacious and had a massive balcony but it leaked each time it rained. We complained 4 times of the massive leakes and had enough when my wife actually slipped and fell on the wet tiles. They didn't seemed too fazed other than offering to change our room but not worth it when we only had a few nights left. They did check up on my wife a few times so that'a a plus. They asked us to sign a disclaimer we would not sue them... we refused to sign it and thankfully my wife didn't appear to be too hurt. Rather than compliment us some days for the massive inconvenience we experienced, they tried to up sell us upon checking out with more sale offers... I told them in no uncertain terms we wouldn't be going back. Never again. Super overrated and if I could give them a negative star I would.
