This is a lovely hotel with everything you could want. Great and helpful staff, peaceful courtyards and decks, sociable breakfasts, and well appointed rooms. Very well run place and right in the heart of centro Oaxaca.

Stayed here a couple of years ago, and came across the name again as I research a return visit to Oaxaca for next year. We had a decent room in the back, which was quiet for the most part. I believe that would change if the hotel was busy and more people were using the pleasant courtyard that the rooms... More

This is my fourth stay at Las Mariposas and that is my testament to what great place this is. I return because of the ambiance, the VERY clean rooms and the warmth of the owners and the staff. An important factor for me is how well the staff are treated, there is hardly a turnover in all the years I... More

Let me start with the only negative: there is no breakfast to speak of. Simply coffe / tea and dry local bread or cornflakes. If you don't mind that (and we didn't), it's a nice little home away from home. The hotel is beautifull and lovely decorated and the staff is friendly and happy to help with advice or booking... I stayed at Hotel Las Mariposas for 14 nights in September 2016. It was my 4th stay there, and has remained one of my favorite places, whether traveling with friends or solo . I speak VERY little Spanish. The staff was able to understand and accommodate me in making arrangements for additional travel, as well as translating hotel telephone messages... More

We stayed for 2 night at the hotel, really enjoyed! Nice, quiet, clean, locate right in the middle between the ADO station and the main street (where santo domingo the central church), 5 min walk from each. Staff is really kind. Other than good bed and shower (didnt eat breakfast soI dont know) doesnt offer much, but we liked what... More

After my visit in April and the controversy on the booking with booking.com that included breakfast I trusted the owner that it was all just a big mistake by booking.com. OK, so I returned with my family last week. I'll cover the rooms later on, so let me start with the breakfast issue. On booking.com the only booking option was... More

Thank you for sharing your comments. I am very sorry you were disappointed by your second stay. As the owner told you, on our web page and booking portals, it states very clearly that we serve a free continental breakfast, every day from 8 to 10 am. The hotel does not have the proper facilities to offer a hot breakfast... More

Hotel Las Mariposas is very nice little hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. I liked the patio and the way the rooms are located. It was quite unique for me. They are trying to be Eco-friendly! Stuff is very friendly. I was only missing a better breakfast.

This place has the potential to be amazing. But for the moment it's just a little short of that. On the plus side: it's beautiful, the staff is friendly, the location is great (close to sights, and safe), and the bathrooms are clean. The negative: pretty awful breakfast. A little more effort into it and it could go a long... More

This hotel is in a great location. Especially as the Zocalo area was taken over by tents/protesters, this was far enough away from that and near a bunch of tourist sites, as well as a beautiful park a block away. There's lots of little courtyards and nooks that feel semi-private and are great to rest for a while in between... More
