We stayed here for 5 days and had a relaxing time at azul, great breakfast in the courtyard and a short walk to the main walking street. We had a lovely room on the upper floor. Some of the best food of our trip here. Many restaurants nearby and the great gardens are well worth the visit

The hotel is well located but the accommodations are anything of what I expected The lighting at the room is terrible it looks like they forgot it and at the end they put something over the closet, you can't even find the switch to turn it off The air conditioning is over the same closet and is directed directly to...

Hotel Azul is an ideal place to stay. The location is perfect - it is central to all the action but also a quiet refuge. The staff is friendly and accommodating and handled all of my needs. The property is beautiful and comfortable. I will definitely be back !

Hotel Azul is such a wonderful gem in the heart of old Oaxaca. It's absoloutely gorgeous, tastefully and stylishly designed. All the rooms are comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. The staff were terrific, and the food was great. Literally a minutes walk from the center of Oaxaca, where there are too many wonderful restaurants, boutique clothing shops, and precious art galleries...

Absolutely perfect. We were hesitating between azul and casa oaxaca at first and we are so happy we picked hotel azul. Everything about it is way better and more sophisticated than casa oaxaca. Beautiful impeccable design, warm helpful and efficient staff, and great location (in the center but on a pretty quieter street than casa oaxaca). Staying at hotel azul...

Superb option for a holiday weekend or business. Azul is our hotel of choice for guests during our film festival, and personal choice for a weekend getaway in Oaxaca. Really great service from staff - very helpful! Beautiful hotel patios, common areas, and outdoor dining areas, and very clean modern rooms. Very thin floors, so sound could be a problem, but didn't bother us. Great location so you can walk to all the central destinations. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to friends.

A reviewer notes, "One of the best hotels in Mexico…." Well that's kind, but a bit of a stretch. It's a nice hotel but hardly one of the best. Decor is minimal and tasteful.
