Casa Colonial is a great place to stay in Oaxaca. The owner is an American and knows exactly what her guests might need. Amado the manager is there early in the morning to help you arrange tours around the city as well as giving great info on restaurants and sights near the hotel. There were five of us traveling and...

Planning to visit Oaxaca with a friend, I wanted a place that met many desires: outstanding breakfasts, close to sites yet not so close to the downtown area, superior comfortable bedding, reading lamps, public spaces to relax, spacious, private, and high quality Internet. Casa Oaxaca delivered all this PLUS +++++! The biggest plus is the manager, Amado, a seasoned hospitality...

We just returned after a wonderful week in Oaxaca & really enjoyed our stay @ the Casa Colonial! Comfy rooms around a lovely courtyard full of tropical plants & flowers! The Casa has a nice little library, I'm still dreaming about the (included) breakfasts that Ramona & Graciella made us & the few times we had dinner there it was...

The garden is lovely, the room spacious and comfortable, the sala a wonderful library and living room, and the kitchen/dining room always open for fruit and tea. But those aren't the best qualities of Casa Colonial. The staff is what makes this place so amazing. The manager, Amado, not only keeps the place running smoothly, he took care of us...

Casa Colonial is a quiet paradise in the perfect location. Walking distance to the Center of town. The staff are helpful and sweet. Amado the manager is extremely helpful for any and all needs or information. The rooms are beautifully decorated with family heirloom antiques. The food is delicious as are the afternoon margaritas. I can enthusiastically recommend this little...

Wonderful, magical garden in non-predictable rooms, each different. Great breakfast and nice to have the supper option. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, which lasted 8 days and was accompanied by others. Loved the library, too. This is a lovely place for those who are comfortable with staying in unique environments with friendly, capable staff. I love that instead of tips,...

I thought long and hard about writing this review. When you find a place like this, you hesitate to share it - but that would be unfair. This small boutique hotel is a haven of peacefulness in the center of Oaxaca, within easy walking distance to the Zocalo with its myriad of shops and restaurants. There are 16 rooms, each...

I spent a week at Casa Colonial in November with my mother and sisters based on the recommendations of multiple trusted friends. Our stay at Casa Colonial was superb in every way. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed with interesting art and furnishings. The lush garden was peaceful and filled with plants and birds (which especially thrilled my bird watching...

After spending the Day of the Dead holidays in the center of town, it was a delight to transfer to Casa Colonial. The courtyard was lush and tranquil. The salon/library was a delightful meeting place. There was even enough light to practice my cross-stitch while taking an afternoon off from touring. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and took advantage of...

Cass Colonial is a bit off the major tourist streets. This is an advantage if you don't mind walking or using other transportation. I never met the owner, but the manager, Armado, speaks excellent English and is very helpful in making suggestions or arrranging tours. Out room was stuffy, as there was nth cross ventilation. The was the only negative...
