On the face of it, being located right on the Zocalo would be the best possible place to be. But the noise and inconvenience of getting here (the parking lot of the hotel is 4 blocks away) make it a huge drawback. It is so noisy until late at night that it is not possible to leave the windows open....

As a result of overbooking by booking.com, we ended up in this hotel. We had almost no choice on the matter because almost all the decent hotels in Oaxaca were fully booked during their Day of the Dead celebration by the time booking.com informed us. After much consideration, we elected to stay at this hotel because of its location which...

The Hotel was adequate but very noisy! There is music on the Zocolo until 1:00 am most nights. With the warm weather and no central air, leaving the windows open is essential so bring your earplugs!! WiFi worked sporadically, and generally only outside the room in the hallways.

Just returned from 11-days in Oaxaca enjoying various Dia de Los Muertos celebrations. Like others have remarked, Hotel Marques Del Valle is centrally located nearby shops, museums, comparsas, etc. The long-time staff at the hotel are kind and attentive - this includes reception, housekeeping, restaurant, etc. And, yes the rooms are clean. However, the internet connection throughout our stay was...

This nice hotel and restrurant is on the zocalo in the center of Oaxaca City. Very clean rooms. The view from room 409 is delightful. We were there for 12 days around Dia de los Muertos and enjoyed all the excitement. The lobby had a lovely alter to honor the spirits of loved ones who had passed into the spirit...

The great thing about the Marques del Valle is that it is right on the main square or zócalo of Oaxaca. Some rooms are noisy as there is a central patio and noise carries. The staff has always been helpful. The restaurant overlooking the zócalo is handy for breakfast, lunch and supper. They serve many Oaxacan dishes as well as...

I have stayed at this hotel several times, as it is right in the center of town, right on the main square. There is a lot of nightlife and activity around here and it is a great people watching location. It is also within convenient walking location to most of what Oaxaca has to offer, markets, museums, etc. Be sure...

It's not a luxury hotel, but it was enough to make the travel to oaxaca a good memory. The room was clean and quiet. All of the staff were professional. Very good location and felt like a safe area. Could walk to all the places I wanted to see in the city. I sure will stay here for my next visit.

The rooms are nice, clean and the views of the main square wonderful. The staff could use some training. They were not very friendly even at our over joyous attempts to reach to them. Because of travel restrictions, I now often travel without shampoo and conditioner which most hotels offer BUT of the 5 nights we were there they only...

I've stayed at this hotel many time for Day of the Dead and Christmas and it's the best location in Oaxaca. There is always something going on under our windows. We get the best seats in the city for multiple concerts and parades all day long. The desk staff are amazing. I left my camera charger at home and one...
