Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Where to begin? Alcobas has a great location in a neighborhood of upscale shopping surrounded by great restaurants. Spotlessly clean, elegantly appointed with a charming and truly welcoming and accomodating staff (especially Angel and Bruno!). Our new go-to spot in Mexico City.

The hotel is located in the upscale Polanco neighbourhood, on the same street as every high-end store you can think of. There are also lots of restaurant within walking distance. It is a nice central location to see the main sights. The staff are outstanding, very polite and helpful with any thing you may need. The rooms are very nice also. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Absolutely the best 5 star service of any hotel we have encountered. Every single staff member was warm, friendly, helpful, and often went beyond other hotels we have experienced around the world. Polanco location is great, but wish this elevation of service and comfort was in Condesa. It might be, but we switched hotels just to get space, king bed, good AC, and we found the restaurant breakfasts to be fabulous. It is contemporary comfort, not Mexican charm. Very small workout room, well equipped. The engineering staff lowered the possible lowest cooling temp for us, something that has never happened in another hotel! This is actually a business hotel, given its location. But very well set up to make us comfortable. We wish the staff the best.

One of the best hotels I've ever been to. The entire staff does their job with a smile and are some of the nicest, most genuine people I've encountered at a hotel. The cocktails at the hotel restaurant are absolutely fantastic -- didn't try any of the food. The room (Deluxe King) was large - loved the shower, bath, overall design and layout of the room. Room was a bit dated (mid-2000s vibe) but had very nice features. The location of the hotel was fantastic - middle of upscale of Polanco district; about a 20 minute walk to the Anthropology Museum. Felt very safe. The hotel is managed from top to bottom extremely well. Will definitely stay again if in CDMX. We did use Marriott points for the stay (Titanium Member); unsure of cash rates during our stay.

I've stayed at the Four Seasons, and St. Regis in Mexico City, and I have to say Las Alcobas blows them away. Located in the beautiful Polanco neighborhood, Las Alcobas hits all of the high points of staying in Mexico City. You can take a nice walk to the Museo Soumaya, or a quick $8 buck Uber ride to the Frida museum! I do have expose the best secret of Mexico City...their restaurant Anatol has some of the finest food, attentive kind service and absolute best margaritas in Mexico! We dined their twice, and was shocked that the place wasn't packed. So! take heed, when in the area make a ressie (Opentable) and dine at Anatol. The room was a tad small, but well equipped. Bathroom shower, and jacuzzi was awesome. They can add a nespresso machine to make the experience better. Housekeeping was top notch. If a FHR ressie or not, grab a spa massage treatment (Ana). FANTASTIC! Again I must mention the restaurant Anatol. A must do! Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Grab an outdoor table for an afternoon cocktail and fab pizza, as you watch the daily excitement of Polanco. We can't thank the excellent staff enough. They truly made our stay memorable. Front off house: Aldo, Emmanuel, Erick, Hugo and Bruno. Anatol staff: Joaquin, Oscar, Jose Luis. Such a pleasure to see these guys everyday. Truly kind, professional and very knowledgeable of Mexico City. Don't hesitate! Book a stay at the Las Alcobas!

I travel around 180-200 days a year for work, have stayed in over 100 Marriotts and over 1000 hotels in my life. This is the single greatest hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. It wasn’t because of the locations, the room was great but nothing I haven’t stayed in before, the staff and specifically Pablo are what made this the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was my girlfriends 30th birthday, they waited until we went to dinner and after we left they put chocolate cake, writing that said happy birthday, multiple chocolates and a bottle of tequila in our room, upon our return we were flabbergasted to see all they had done for her birthday. This was followed up with free mini bar drinks, free room service (food and all costs) free bath making service, free sho shine, Pablo was the nicest person I’ve ever met and literally did anything he could to accommodate us. I have never written a trip advisor review before and I have never written a review in general before, that is how good this hotels service was, it deserves every bit of praise and everyone to write a review.

From the very warm welcome on arrival to our departure three days later, this was an outstanding boutique hotel experience. Located in the upscale Polenca district, Las Alcobas is surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The staff are terrific, in particular the highly attentive concierge team who arranged our sightseeing, restaurant bookings and car service. Our king deluxe room was very comfortable and quiet, and our double queen room for the kids was a good size. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel seemed very quiet in terms of other guests, and there’s no hotel bar. But all in all, it’s a five star boutique.

The team at Las Alcobas ensured an exceptional stay for our guests in Mexico City. The location is unbeatable, in an extremely safe neighborhood with easy access to some of the city's best attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are super comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent (plus, we loved the generous welcome snacks😊). From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm and welcoming staff. The concierge, in particular, was outstanding—always willing to go above and beyond what was expected to provide an unforgettable five-star experience.

I had stayed here years ago, but I was not impressed. I traveled for business and I thought the hotel was short of business amenities. My preference in CDMX is the JW Marriott, but I read in was in renovations, so I decided on Las Alcobas on this trip. I really enjoyed the hotel a lot more this time around, worked for my business trip and more than likely I would return here instead of the JW.

The best part of this hotel is the location. It’s in a cozy neighborhood that’s surrounded by nice caffès and restaurants. The staff was friendly and efficient. However, the room was extremely small and the continental breakfast was not satisfactory. There were lots of extra charges one doesn’t expect: they charge you for a normal toast bread at breakfast, tea bags to be brought to the room, even a pot of hot water to be brought to the room without any tea bags! Any such items at any other hotel under this category (five star luxury) would be provided free of charge. It wasn’t the amount of the charge that bothered me, it was the fact that we were being charged for such small items which should have been included in the hotel rates that leaves you a bad taste. We won’t be returning here on our next visit to Mexico City.
