This hotel is in the Zona Rosa area which is near the British and America Embassy. We used the Metro (5 pesos)to reach the hotel and a Taxi back to the airport for $20dollars. Jose was working when we arrived and showed us to our room which was very spacious, neat, clean and everyday we received bottles of water. We used...

What a gem! We arrived and found a a dozen roses in our large room. We had mentioned we were spending some time in the big city for our anniversary. How thoughtful. Clean, with pretty gardens and fairly quiet. I can imagine some rooms facing the street could be noisy and we could easily hear people coming and going due...

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Gonzalez. The hotel atmosphere is quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing, a welcome refuge from the hustle and noise of Mexico City. The hotel staff were very kind, helpful, and honest. The management speaks fluent English, if needed. Casa Gonzales is a beautiful property, decorated with beautiful artwork and garden plants. I highly recommend...

I recently traveled to Mexico City with a friend. We decided to book two rooms at Casa Gonzalez. They were both absolutely lovely! There was Mexican tile in the bathrooms and around the sink in the bedroom. I felt very safe - there was a private door to the property that was always locked and then the regular bedroom lock....

I really have to say i don't know what people are complaining about. I could not imagine a more wonderful place to stay. The location is great, very charming patios that you can relax from a wild day in the city and the staff is simply wonderful. Lots of restaurants in the area, and perfect spot to explore from. I...

We have stayed at Casa Gonzalez 3 or 4 times and happily it has stayed the same (except for a rise in price naturally). The hotel is two or three buildings formed around a courtyard, with a maximum height of two stories. Flowers, courtyard tables. Our room opened to the courtyard with a little patio and chairs outside. Our room...

Thank you for your most kind review. We are sorry about the price increase. We do work hard to keep our prices as low as possible, but our dear government does not cooperate. We have had serious increases in most taxes (property taxes have gone up 500%, electricity has gone up about $300%, VAT 2%, Lodging tax etc...).

The courtyard is an oasis in the Capital. I recommend staying here as the staff are very attentive, the rooms are clean and the gardens are beautiful. I will gladly return the next time I am in town!!

The service here is wonderful for a relaxing stay in Mexico City. A little oasis garden setting that is relaxing. Breakfast is only 35 Pesos (continental) and 70 Pesos for full breakfast. Laundry service is available for just under $1 US per pound (wash and dry folded) which is VERY convenient. Reception staff is multi-lingual (English, French that I observed)...

We chose this hotel out of our guide book because of its good location, and were delighted to discover an oasis of charm in a busy city. Our room was quiet and comfortable and the staff was helpful with directions, suggestions, and informative conversations. We loved that the metro was so near and that restaurants of all types lined the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The most important is that we want to make this your home away from home, at an accessible price.Casa Gonzalez is four old homes surrounded by courtyards and gardens of different eras that have been adapted to make a home for travelers. The two original homes were built by the current owners grandfather in the mid 1920's.One of the houses belonged to a famous movie star, Lupe Velez (who married Johnny Weissmuller for a few years). The latest addition was built in the early 1940's by a relatively well know architect, Roberto Buenrostro, as his private residence. The guest house started operating in the early 30's by the grandmother and great grandmother of the current owners. ... more   less
