I arrived at Casa Gonzales after about 24 hours straight of travel from Australia. I found all of the staff friendly and helpful without fail. The wifi was faster than it is in Australia. The breakfast was delicious, ample and the price was right! I found myself wishing I could stay for more than a single night! Muchas gracias!

Excellent location, 2 blocks from main avenue and also 2 blocks from US embassy. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. The hotel is an adorable hacienda property that felt safe and price was right! The room was small but clean. Cross the main avenue (paseo de la reforma) to the other side and head to calle genova for some...

This is an excellent hotel and great value for the money. Location is perfect and neighbourhood is lovely and safe. Very short walk to metro and the Zona Rosa. We arrived very late at night but the receptionist (Russel?) were super nice and helpful. Rooms get a bit cold during nights so maybe an extra heater would not be bad...

I didn't do alot of research before taking a 24-hour overnight layover to explore Ciudad de Mexico. The reviews on this site were good, and the price seemed right. I was very happy with my choice. The staff were excellent, finding me a cab driver to take me on a driving tour to the Pyramids and Basillica the next day....

We stayed here for five nights and weren't so happy. The room was really cold and we had to change the heater several times until we finally got workable one after four cold nights. The room was also in a poor condition, surfaces were partly rotten and furnitures were old. Bed was comfortable but cold. Staff were friendly and helpfull...

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I apologize your room was so cold, we are not used to this cold weather. We have purchased extra heaters but the delivery was delayed, the heaters are installed now.

Walk through the inconspicuous door flush with the street just steps from the British Embassy into a whitewashed courtyard bursting with flamboyant bougainvillea. Sigh. So close to the bustling Reforma, amazing museums and delightful restaurants, The Casa Gonzalez is a welcome refuge. Rooms are pretty basic and very clean. Will recommend to all friends travelling through beautiful DF.

Nice rooms, excellent location, decent price, helpful staff and interior garden, but aside from breakfast which was good, I'd skip other meals and go out to eat. Friendly and the location is unbeatable! Stayed 4 nights.

Thank you for your most kind review. I am sorry you had a noisy room. If you stay with us again it might be better if you stay in a regular double room away from the main door.

I stayed there for leisure, as I was visiting the city for the Mexico GP. The location is unbeatable, close to reforma, la zona rosa and right behind the american consulate. Price: Fair price, makes it cheap when the cost is split like in my case, as I stayed in a double bed room. It includes Wi-Fi, courtesy bottled water...

The most important is that we want to make this your home away from home, at an accessible price.Casa Gonzalez is four old homes surrounded by courtyards and gardens of different eras that have been adapted to make a home for travelers. The two original homes were built by the current owners grandfather in the mid 1920's.One of the houses belonged to a famous movie star, Lupe Velez (who married Johnny Weissmuller for a few years). The latest addition was built in the early 1940's by a relatively well know architect, Roberto Buenrostro, as his private residence. The guest house started operating in the early 30's by the grandmother and great grandmother of the current owners. ... more   less
