This hotel is located in a small, bustling, modern, energetic area of Monterrey, walking distance to excellent restaurants, healthy, beautiful people, and a Starbucks (the hotel's coffee is absolutely horrible). The BICE Bistro is ok, good Illy espresso, but their breakfast coffee is disgusting. Very nice breakfast buffet, good fruit selection. The rooms are very nice, contemporary and solid. Definetely...

This hotel (in Polanco) gives the impression of gouging its guests wherever possible. I was at a conference, otherwise I would never have stayed here. Everything cost extra, even Internet, which was free in every other hotel we stayed in Mexico (although all of those hotels cost half as much as the Camino Real). For a hotel of this class...

The room was dirty, outdated and the lock barely worked. The staff seemed only worried about tips. The restaurants were over priced-$51.00 US for striploin steak and fries and the food was average at best. Well past it's prime.

expensive for the setting - a little old and tired with stained carpets and circuitous route through the hotel. a taxi ride from any decent restaurants but close to parks and museums. Staff was friendly and efficient but don't take restaurant recommendations from the staff - they twice recommend Villa Maria - which is a huge tourist trap. Most of...

The El Camino Real at Polanco is an old and huge hotel. Despite being well kept, signs of time are evident. It has all the problems of a very large hotel, distances are phenomenal and an imposing sensation of not being friendly. The staff however is quite friendly and helpful. I have attended a meeting there. The architecture does not...

Currently staying in this hotel during a tour in Mexico and it is hosting a conference with lot of people and no focus on details but only on tips. Rooms are old and quite sad with normal breakfast. If you can chose I'd go some where else and definitely is not a 4 star.

This was my first trip to Mexico and although on business, I did have some time to get to know the place. The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring the local town of Polanco, which is similar to any local town, full of bars, restaurants and shops of all types. Outside of the hotel there is a busy...

The moment when you arrive to this hotel, you are seduced by its beauty. Very we'll designed and beautiful colors make all spaces in the hotel are spectacular. The hotel is pricy if you think about the service you get. They want to charge you for everything. I don't really go back to this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights with my family and friends. First surprise, our 3 children are in one room, as mentioned when I made our bookings, but there are only 2 regular beds, we asked for the third bed, it is 50 US$ per day ! I spent 30 mns explaining that all was mentioned in my...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Camino Real Polanco is unique architectural concept, created by highly-regarded architect Ricardo Legorreta. This space is considered a Hotel-Museum for its beauty and art collection. It opened its doors to the public on July 25, 1968, combining modern features with shapes clearly reminiscent of Prehispanic pyramids, the elements of which merge together to create a wonderful architectural work. Camino Real Polanco has hosted two soccer World Cups and the Olympic Games, as well as over 210 official visits from presidents and kings from all over the world.
