I had been recommended this hotel due to its location, and it is certainly central. Below are my comments:

There's a lot to like about this fine hotel, and one major caveat.

Loved the hotel (the food was awesome!) but the guide recommended by Teramo48 in an earlier review of this hotel, Isaac Margulis, was awful. We had just one day in Mexico City in late January 2009 and wanted a guide so that we could make...More

We are sorry about this problem with that Tourist Guide. Here in the Hotel we have a safty taxi company that works with us and they can take you anywhere in Mexico City and suburbs
The beating heart of the city lies within Centro Histórico, the vast expanse of historical buildings and monuments that are a must when exploring Mexico City. Places such as the Museo Biblioteca Palacio Postal, Casa de los Azulejos and Palacio de Bellas Artes are the perfect eye candy for anyone seeking to admire arts and architecture. Don't forget to visit the wide variety of markets and plazas where any
vintage item, handicrafts and jewelry characteristic of each state in Mexico can be found on Sundays. Admire majestic views of the city from the Monumento a la Revolución and Torre Latinoamericana, and round out the experience with restaurants of all cuisines nearby.

I've since returned to Hotel Catedral many times since writing that earlier review. The hotel is doing much better at handling reservations and payments, and I'm now completely satisfied with their customer service.
