Hotel Frances is a good choice of you looking for the nostalgic feel and romance of yesteryear. This is a vintage, and near authentic experience to be enjoyed. Understated elegance in the naturally lit main interior courtyard true to the period. Ride the vintage elevator up just to experience it. Relaxing main lounge area includes a restaurant and bar with...

Hotel Frances was build in the 1600's and is still maintained to serve guests. The elevator is slow, but works and the views from the rooftop are beautiful. We are staying here two different times on our trip. The lobby has had live music both nights so far, but we have been so tired from our exploring the city we...

Opened in 1610, the Hotel Frances still retains the grandeur of old Mexico. If you enjoy older hotels with modern-day comforts and excellent service, perfectly located in the historic center, I highly recommend this place.

If you want a clean, simple place to stay in the Centro Historico of Guadalajara, this is a good choice. It is old with few amenities, it has good wifi, and a restaurant located on the premises. It's close to everything downtown.

The Hotel Frances is located right down next to the Cathedral of Guadalajara in the historic district! We stayed on the 3rd floor that is the top level of an magnificent 400 year old structure which has a nice view of the surrounding area. The beds were very comfortable and it may have last been renovated in the 1950's, but...

This is by far the noisiest place I have stayed at. The hotel is very beautifull. Well worth a visit. And the lobby has great drinks. And live music. That however is the core of the problem. All rooms have shuttered windows to the central area of the hotel. The hotel being 200 years old, you hear every sound, everywhere!...

Even tho it is a historic building with a lot of character and beautiful architecture and surroundings, there are more bad things than good about this hotel. Pros: -The location is great, right in the heart of downtown, right next to plaza de la liberación, teatro degollado, and the cathedral of Guadalajara. If you are looking forward a centric hotel...

For the price I paid for, is one of the best deals I have ever made...really good deal. Our first day we enjoyed the mariachi at night (Friday night). Very close to many historical places in Guadalajara, restaurants (I recommend La Chata.. 5 min walk). The room was clean.. A little small, but for the price it was okay.

Horrible experince in this hotel!! They are partnered with an extortionist group, they call you directly to the hotel phone room and the reception never asks if you want to recieve calls from unknown people!! They called me and they took a lot of money because they claimed to be the receptionist! I talked with thr manager and he didn't...

I have stayed here awhile ago with family and the personnel were very nice as the service. Actually I don't know but it's been a traditional lodging and very convenient for walking distances to great places as the San Juan de Dios market, mariachis' square and museums like the greatest Hospicio Cabanas !!! You HAVE to visit, you wouldn't regret...
