The Catalina was the first hotel on La Ropa beach, and has been family run for quite some time. We first traveled there 16 years ago, and they have made some great upgrades to some of the rooms, especially the rooms directly under the lobby....More
Reservations were made for me. The staff is amazing and helpful. The check-in process was fast and efficient. The bell man, drove me to my room. The room is spacious with a mini fridge, Couch and 2 queen size beds.

What a terrific spot-welcoming staff, great breakfast served overlooking the bay. Nice pool and your own lounge chairs under a palapa on the beach. The water is warm and refreshing and there are several beach restaurants within walking distance
Well located. Room was clean and reasonably appointed. Restaurant waaay below par, both food and service. Bar was a little better. Might stay here again. Cab to downtown was 40-50 pesos. Great view. Stay away from low numbered rooms- unless you like stairs. No elevators,...More
I can't remember the room numbers now but, I would recommend to ask for the level below the Sunset Bar and on the south side. We were told that a couple of those were redone.

ALL rooms have unblocked views and I believe all have AC
Like I stated, quirky!!!!!!
But........very cool. By no means a 5 star but, we enjoyed it more than most of the high end resorts we've stayed at!
