This is truly a surprising and lovely hotel- an historic building with many wonderful artefacts, yet with modern rooms and lovely grounds, gardens, and pools. It is somewhat dark in the central courtyard, but having passed through the thick antique wooden doors at the entrance, you know you on sacred ground. Take time and look around and learn the history....

This hotel surprises. You walk in to a simple looking building to find extraordinary art objects everywhere and a gorgeous fountain surrounded by plants and seating. Outside there is a garden area also very pretty with a lovely pool. And if you need it, there's a chapel! The room we were in was comfortable and had a small verandah, kitchenette...

Simple without being rustic, very clean, charming and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was easy as was check out. It's a very peaceful and quiet place, off the main road to town but away from the nightlife. Beds were humongous and comfy enough, with firm mattress. Staff are Spanish speaking only, so you have to be...

Hotel Hacienda Flamingo. We are just completing a too brief visit to San Blas. My wife and I first visited San Blas 40 years ago when we were dating. It still has much of the charm it had back then. This trip we stayed at the Hotel Hosienda Flamingos. What a charming surprise. It is like stepping back 100 years....

This is a very Mexican hotel, which has lots of character and is very beautiful. Absolutely no English is spoken. I have recenly read a response posted by the owner, to counter a scathing review by a gringo. He opined that she was unreasonable in her complaint about the lack of English, writing words to the effect that he does...

We took a short road trip from Puerto Vallarta to San Blas and had a great time. The Hotel Hacienda Flamingos was amazing. Very charming old Mexican Hacienda. Beautiful grounds..very clean and the pool was great. We were there off season and had the entire hotel to ourselves. We were only sorry we didn't stay longer. The location was perfect,...

Drove Mazatlan to San Blas. No reservation to so just looked around. Very nice historic and full of antiques. Beautiful enclosed courtyard and off street parking. Price was reasonable but God forbid you dare ask if there are any discounts available. "There are other hotels if you don't like the price". I don't care if I'm stay at the Waldorf,...

Full of old school charm - we loved this hacienda. Of a bygone age. Lots of charming details, right down to the monogrammed bath robes and old family portraits lining the courtyard walls. We highly recommend a visit. Watch out for mosquitoes in town and surrounding beaches, we got savaged even in the daytime.

I feel sorry to read about some of the other reviewers' experiences at Hacienda Flamingos, as ours was very good on balance though not without issues. Yes, the beds are quite hard. On a scale from 1 (memory foam pillowtop) to 10 (concrete), they were probably an 8. We find this to be true in most Mexican-owned hotels, so we...

It's a very nice hotel...an oasis in San blas. The beds are HARD. I asked for two extra blankets to cushion the bed. There is an honor bar in the lobby. You pour your drink or take a beer from the fridge next to it then fill out the slip of paper for the front desk. They don't speak English...
