Our stay at Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta has been fantastic. It's our first time at Hotel Mousai, second time in PV, although we are very familiar with the Tafer properties. This morning's hike with Ronaldo and Eduardo was so much fun. It's the first time ever at a resort where the activity was described as advanced, and it actually delivered. 2 1/2 hours later, we were tired, sweaty, and had seen some fantastic views and beautiful sites. Can't wait to go on another hike and the kayak tour because we had such a good experience with the activities team. Love our Butler Diego, who is the perfect balance of available & always with answers, yet not obtrusive. Miguel at Noi was an excellent & attentive server with on point suggestions and superb knowledge of the menu! Our housekeeping friend, Angelica did such a great job, she was stealth, efficient, and our room was absolutely perfect every day. What a beautiful day, thank you for such a superb staff, who made us feel very, very special!

Hotel's Favourite
We just came back from a 2-week honeymoon stay at Hotel Mousai and wanted to share our amazing experience with others: First off, Hotel Mousai was not our first choice in terms of a place to stay for our honeymoon as we had already booked an Air BnB for the same amount of time but quickly found out it wasn’t going to be the honeymoon experience we had wanted. The Air BnB itself was beautiful but it was too noisy and not relaxing having construction and noisy tenants next door so we set out to find the best hotel we could find and came across Hotel Mousai. It is part of the Garza Blanca chain of hotels owned by Tafer Group which is a Mexican-owned corporation (which we liked). It was definitely on the more expensive side for us compared to anything we had previously done but figured it was worth it for our once-in-a-lifetime trip. The hotel and staff did not disappoint us for the entire 2 weeks we were there. Everything was exceptional from the décor, the cuisine, and service. The hotel is very well constructed in terms of the attention to detail in the rooms and the artistic vibe that is present throughout the entire hotel. The ONLY complaint we had was that the room would make a crunching sound (similar to a plastic water bottle popping) when the sun would come out and hit the exterior of the building. It must have had something to do with the construction material and the temperature fluctuations, but it was quite annoying and, at times, made it difficult to rest. Everything else was fantastic about the building. We thought the food was excellent as well. Our favourite restaurant was Bocados Steakhouse because of the mussels and lamb (unbelievably tasty) as we did not try the steak there. For steak, we went slightly offsite (at Tierra Luna) to the paid restaurant called Karuma and we enjoyed a massive tomahawk steak which was delicious. The views and drinks are also amazing from there! We also really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant called Hiroshi as they had a beautiful view from the balcony, great drinks, and some amazing sushi. We like the Chinese restaurant (DAO), and the Italian (NOI) as well, but only ate there once each so we did not get as much of a taste for the items but had a great time and enjoyed the staff at both of them. Our least favourite place was the Mexican restaurant (Blanca Blue) as the food was not as nice or fancy as the other places, so we only went there once for dinner. The breakfast buffet there was amazing though and the handmade crepes and omelettes were delicious. One of our favourite parts of our stay here, however, was the amazing staff that we got to meet and know over our 2 weeks stay. Literally, everyone on site was friendly, warm, and helpful. They made you feel important and made it like you were home. If we could thank everyone individually we would but the list would be massive, so we have a few particular people that we want to note: The first is Carlos who was our butler for the entire time. Carlos is incredibly helpful, professional, and kind. He helped me with several things for my wife and was always available within a moments notice if we needed anything. I am certain the other butlers are just as good, but I highly recommend asking for Carlos as he made our trip that much easier and special. The guy is a rockstar at his job! The next people we would like to thank work at the concierge desk – Jaaziel and Karen. Jaaziel was very friendly and personable with us from the day we arrived. He helped us with organizing things and giving suggestions of where to go around town. I enjoyed laughing with him and his personality made him a pleasure to have around us every day. We looked forward to seeing his smile in the mornings! Karen was also very kind and professional in her role. She was always available to help with whatever we needed and would go the extra mile to do so. We got to know them both throughout our stay here and can say they are very lovely human beings in general and we would visit again just to see them. Since we stayed in the South Tower, the restaurant in our lobby was NOI which is the Italian one. Almost every evening the piano player, Adel, would play beautiful music for everyone eating there and anyone in the lobby. He made the atmosphere feel classy, romantic, and elegant. The bar staff at the lobby bar were amazing and made some of the best cocktails we had our entire trip. Eriberto and the rest of the bartenders know their drinks and you can tell they appreciate their craft. Their attention to detail when making cocktails is excellent. I highly recommend getting a “Smoked Old Fashioned” from there or any one of their cocktails on the list. Even their mocktails were delicious! Jerry from NOI was also excellent and a great server and host to us. We had some great chats about whiskey and brandy, and he went above and beyond to make our even enjoyable. Mario, Javier, and Noemi at Bocados were also amazing and took great care of us every time we visited the restaurant and made our experience more than enjoyable. A few other mentions from the restaurants would be David and Vero from DAO which was the Chinese restaurant – what a pleasant experience it was to have them there. Last, but certainly not least, all the staff on the rooftop bars were amazing. Stephanie was in South Tower almost every day we visited and would greet us with a smile. Alan was at South and then moved to North Tower but was a great guy who learned our names after only meeting for the first time. Really great team up there. There are many others from the team including hosts and servers, but we do not have everyone’s names unfortunately but would recommend all of them for excellent service. After all was said and done, we had an incredible trip to Puerto Vallarta and Hotel Mousai was a large part of that. It was the perfect place for a honeymoon trip as it was adults-only (in Hotel Mousai, not all of Garza Blanca), unbelievably fancy, and brought us peace and quiet throughout our stay. Thank you to everyone there that made it a trip of a lifetime for both of us.

The Hotel Mousai exceeded our expectations. From the beautifully appointed room with a terrace (complete with water views and hot tub) to the above-and-beyond dining options to the surprisingly challenging hike and fantastic nature walk, the stay was everything we wanted. So many individuals to thank, but we loved our time at the rooftop pool with concierges Vainey and Alan, breakfast at BocaDos with Gio and Arturo, helpful check-in assistance with Miguel, hiking with Mike (king of Dad jokes) and nature walk with Tito (enthusiasm personified), and knowledgeable concierges Jovana and Atenas.

Our stay was overall phenomenal. We went on a fun girls trip. The views, the rooms and the food are nothing short of amazing. Ricardo the Bell Boy at the North Tower was one of the first people we met. He was so great showing us our room and how to work everything in the room. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the North Tower and the view of the ocean was amazing. Cecilia the hotel General Manager was the absolute sweetest. She offered us an amazing upgrade. She runs an amazing hotel and has incredible staff. Bianca at the North Tower concierge was so sweet as well as many other staff such as the front desk supervisor Aaron. They really helped us out and were very professional. Roger who is head of concierge at Garza Blanca was phenomenal to us. We stopped by to see the beach and we ended up having an amazing conversation with him. We think Roger is amazing at what he does. Also, many of the waiters were so great. At the North Tower we had Edgar, and Alex for breakfast. They were so sweet and gave wonderful service. We had Angel at the steak house, Bocados. He was so sweet and professional. At the Chinese restaurant we had David twice…he was also incredible. The North Tower pool staff was incredible. Especially Marcelino, Alan, Eduardo, Mateo, and Jorge. Everyone gave amazing service and were so sweet to us. Lastly, the butler Lilith was also so sweet and helped us out when we saw her at the North Tower pool. Lastly, the spa is amazing. We had incredible massages from Luis and Julio as well as an incredible facial from Naomi. Even the spa supervisor Hayde was so sweet and professional. We can’t wait to come back to visit again and recommend it to everyone we know. Everything is just absolutely amazing at this hotel. Lauren & Carly from New York City

Look all things Hotel Mousai is amazing. I will certainly be going back as soon as can. While the service at every level is great, Diego Silva and Rueben Santana at Hiroshi were above and beyond. The service was perfection in every sense. It felt like they were reading my mind it was so smooth and seamless. They were so enjoyable and were making us laugh and we felt so comfortable! It was the highlight of our trip! Also a shout out to Marco who was at the bar as well. He made us feel special as we walked up as he remembered us from two nights prior when we just grabbed a drink there before a different reservation. Thank you Diego and Rueben!! Hotel Mousai is amazing but these two/the experience at Hiroshi was the highlight!

Amazing food and service. Elaine at Blanca blue for breakfast, Leo at Noi and Vicente/Franco at Hiroshi made us feel like family. All of the staff very accommodating for our grandma with limited mobility. Taking the trolley around the resort was easy and made us feel like we were going to a different resort every night.

We have never been to an all-inclusive resort that served dishes at every meal that didn't leave us wanting more...and we did eat more, every chance we got. Ha! Karuma is in the shopping village and is not included in the AI program but definitely worth spending extra to eat there...This Argentine steak house is superb. A shout out to Miguel and Joel at NOI, the Italian restaurant, they treated us like Royalty unlike the hostesses at many of the restaurants that asked my husband to remove his hat upon entering. The dress code for the resort's restaurants says nothing about hats, so that was annoying every time we wanted to go do dinner and then get pressed on something as little as that. Also, the resort credit is a little shady. It does not cover Karuma even though it doesn't specify that at check-in (read your fine print email and then you will find it.) It doesn't cover any spa treatments that are less than 50 minutes either. So, we decided to buy the extra cost tomahawk steak at the resort's steak house and that made us feel a lot better. LOL Overall, a good resort. Loved the rooftop pool, no kids, great service. Will I return? Probably not, unless to eat at Karuma!

Not worth the money or headache. I recently stayed at Hotel Mousai with friends, we had connecting suites in the North Tower. One of the listed benefits of the suites was the private hot tub. Only one of the two hot tubs worked, the second, by all accounts, would short-circuit and shut off. Maintenance came 4x within 24 hours but the issue was never solved. We didn't feel safe going in the hot tub with electrical issues. The staff did not ever offer to move our rooms to rooms where both hot tubs worked. I think also important to keep in mind they describe themselves as five-star luxury and our stay cost us just under 10K for 4 nights. At check-in we did not meet our concierge & were told that they would come up to the pool and find us (we arrived towards the end of the day and were encouraged to go enjoy the pool and drinks before it closed). The concierge did not come to find us that day nor the following morning. We only were introduced to a concierge after we inquired about it with a manager. We were also never informed of any of the planned activities & missed out on a number of things we would've participated in -- they handed us a flyer of events the morning we were leaving, which was not helpful. The staff are friendly, and it's a decent stay -- just not luxury & not worth the money when you compare other resorts in Puerto Vallarta, a place I've travelled before. I would not return to Hotel Mousai. We also had a billing issue we discovered after we left, and resolving this with them was even more of a headache. Not only do they pass you along a never ending cycle of 'I can't help you, but this person can' they place you on hold with an ungodly ringtone abusing your eardrums. It got so bad I emailed someone who reached out prior to our stay to accommodate travel who forwarded and looped in Hotel Mousai. I emailed them on the following dates: February 8 - No Response February 10 - No Response February 14 - No Response I am currently on the phone with them (16 min into call as we speak with no answers). I've been told they do not see the emails I sent -- and, more concerning, the charges. While we didn't let the small stuff bother us while we were there, it's worth noting we also: *Called for some assistance with the room speakers, nobody came. *Had a clogged sink in one of our bathrooms. *Were told that our group of 5 could not sit at breakfast together because only 4 people were allowed per table, despite there being bench seating and plenty of room for 5 (also noting this rule did not apply to a different table of people right next to us) *Room service food took forever and arrived cold (even the pot of hot coffee). All this to say, it was not giving luxury. I will say, the food at the restaurants, and the staff, were all very friendly. It's unfortunate that it was not the five-star experience . Also, now 40 minutes into phone call and they informed us each room had a separate checkout invoice (not what we were told at checkout) & that they charged the card on file for one room but not the other (again, not what we were told at checkout). This all only further illustrates this is a systemic issue management needs to address and not an issue with the staff making their livelihood.
