This is by far the best resort my husband and I have ever stayed at. Hiroshi: Miguel + Irving were both the sweetest! After spending 15 days in Mexico and traveling around to different parts of PV, our dinner here was by far the best! I literally still think about it. If you are staying at Mousai, dinner at Hiroshi is a MUST! Humberto was our butler during our stay. He was incredibly thoughtful and helpful! He was very responsive with our messages and always willing to go the extra mile. He set up coffee service for us and had the diffuser on with scents that we loved. The rooftop pools were some of our favorite parts of the resort. Alan was helpful with finding a spot for us and setting it up with towels. The serving staff was great and food was so delicious! We were very surprised how good the tuna ceviche was! Mousai has a trolly that goes throughout the 2 resorts. The trolly drivers were always welcoming, funny and friendly! If you are capable of making the kayaking trip to Los Arcos… DO IT! Diego was our guide for the trip. He had an incredible energy and made the trip so fun. At Los Arcos you can snorkel and there are soooo many fish. I wasn’t expecting there to be so many fish as soon as we jumped in.

Hotel's Favourite
We just came back from a 2-week honeymoon stay at Hotel Mousai and wanted to share our amazing experience with others: First off, Hotel Mousai was not our first choice in terms of a place to stay for our honeymoon as we had already booked an Air BnB for the same amount of time but quickly found out it wasn’t going to be the honeymoon experience we had wanted. The Air BnB itself was beautiful but it was too noisy and not relaxing having construction and noisy tenants next door so we set out to find the best hotel we could find and came across Hotel Mousai. It is part of the Garza Blanca chain of hotels owned by Tafer Group which is a Mexican-owned corporation (which we liked). It was definitely on the more expensive side for us compared to anything we had previously done but figured it was worth it for our once-in-a-lifetime trip. The hotel and staff did not disappoint us for the entire 2 weeks we were there. Everything was exceptional from the décor, the cuisine, and service. The hotel is very well constructed in terms of the attention to detail in the rooms and the artistic vibe that is present throughout the entire hotel. The ONLY complaint we had was that the room would make a crunching sound (similar to a plastic water bottle popping) when the sun would come out and hit the exterior of the building. It must have had something to do with the construction material and the temperature fluctuations, but it was quite annoying and, at times, made it difficult to rest. Everything else was fantastic about the building. We thought the food was excellent as well. Our favourite restaurant was Bocados Steakhouse because of the mussels and lamb (unbelievably tasty) as we did not try the steak there. For steak, we went slightly offsite (at Tierra Luna) to the paid restaurant called Karuma and we enjoyed a massive tomahawk steak which was delicious. The views and drinks are also amazing from there! We also really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant called Hiroshi as they had a beautiful view from the balcony, great drinks, and some amazing sushi. We like the Chinese restaurant (DAO), and the Italian (NOI) as well, but only ate there once each so we did not get as much of a taste for the items but had a great time and enjoyed the staff at both of them. Our least favourite place was the Mexican restaurant (Blanca Blue) as the food was not as nice or fancy as the other places, so we only went there once for dinner. The breakfast buffet there was amazing though and the handmade crepes and omelettes were delicious. One of our favourite parts of our stay here, however, was the amazing staff that we got to meet and know over our 2 weeks stay. Literally, everyone on site was friendly, warm, and helpful. They made you feel important and made it like you were home. If we could thank everyone individually we would but the list would be massive, so we have a few particular people that we want to note: The first is Carlos who was our butler for the entire time. Carlos is incredibly helpful, professional, and kind. He helped me with several things for my wife and was always available within a moments notice if we needed anything. I am certain the other butlers are just as good, but I highly recommend asking for Carlos as he made our trip that much easier and special. The guy is a rockstar at his job! The next people we would like to thank work at the concierge desk – Jaaziel and Karen. Jaaziel was very friendly and personable with us from the day we arrived. He helped us with organizing things and giving suggestions of where to go around town. I enjoyed laughing with him and his personality made him a pleasure to have around us every day. We looked forward to seeing his smile in the mornings! Karen was also very kind and professional in her role. She was always available to help with whatever we needed and would go the extra mile to do so. We got to know them both throughout our stay here and can say they are very lovely human beings in general and we would visit again just to see them. Since we stayed in the South Tower, the restaurant in our lobby was NOI which is the Italian one. Almost every evening the piano player, Adel, would play beautiful music for everyone eating there and anyone in the lobby. He made the atmosphere feel classy, romantic, and elegant. The bar staff at the lobby bar were amazing and made some of the best cocktails we had our entire trip. Eriberto and the rest of the bartenders know their drinks and you can tell they appreciate their craft. Their attention to detail when making cocktails is excellent. I highly recommend getting a “Smoked Old Fashioned” from there or any one of their cocktails on the list. Even their mocktails were delicious! Jerry from NOI was also excellent and a great server and host to us. We had some great chats about whiskey and brandy, and he went above and beyond to make our even enjoyable. Mario, Javier, and Noemi at Bocados were also amazing and took great care of us every time we visited the restaurant and made our experience more than enjoyable. A few other mentions from the restaurants would be David and Vero from DAO which was the Chinese restaurant – what a pleasant experience it was to have them there. Last, but certainly not least, all the staff on the rooftop bars were amazing. Stephanie was in South Tower almost every day we visited and would greet us with a smile. Alan was at South and then moved to North Tower but was a great guy who learned our names after only meeting for the first time. Really great team up there. There are many others from the team including hosts and servers, but we do not have everyone’s names unfortunately but would recommend all of them for excellent service. After all was said and done, we had an incredible trip to Puerto Vallarta and Hotel Mousai was a large part of that. It was the perfect place for a honeymoon trip as it was adults-only (in Hotel Mousai, not all of Garza Blanca), unbelievably fancy, and brought us peace and quiet throughout our stay. Thank you to everyone there that made it a trip of a lifetime for both of us.

We recently stayed at the Garza Blanca, where to Vallarta resort over the 2023 Thanksgiving vacation. There were several restaurants to choose from all being top-notch. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese Hiroshi. The sushi here was spectacular and the service even better. I would highly recommend.

I wanted to do something special for my mom on her birthday (she turned 64!) so I brought her on an all inclusive 4 night stay to Hotel Mousai. We had the most amazing time! Our butler Carlos was exceptional! He went above and beyond for us. He was super responsive, booked all of our reservations for dinner and the spa, and even arranged for the room to be decorated with silver and gold balloons as a surprise for my mom! If Carlos is your butler, you will be so lucky! I recently started getting back into tennis and noticed that Mousai has a court at their sports facility. So I brought my racquet along and Carlos was able to schedule me two lessons with a tennis pro. The tennis pro was Alfonso and he was SO GOOD!! Starting my mornings with an hour long tennis lesson in the middle of the jungle was awesome!! Highly recommend asking for Alfonso and a tennis lesson. The court is a little unorthodox (it’s also a basketball court & a pickleball court) but it was still amazing. They have all the equipment if you don’t want to bring your own, and even had a basket of balls to practice serving! The rooftop pools are incredible, as all the other reviews will say. Ramon was our server (south tower pool) and he was so fun and made delicious margaritas from the margarita cart!! Breakfast each morning at the North tower was fantastic. We had Luis as our server there all 4 mornings and now that we are back home we definitely miss him. He remembered that we liked cappuccinos and a side of steak every time!! He even brought a special breakfast goodbye plate on our last morning, we felt so special. We also had a tequila tasting in our room. Yesenia came with a cart and taught my mom and me all things tequila!!! We learned a lot and had a hilarious time. If you have a chance to schedule the tequila tasting you should definitely do it- but make sure to have it a few hours before dinner because you will get a little tipsy!! We loved all the restaurants, but our favorite was Bocados! My mom loves tomahawk steak… so we splurged on it (it’s not included w the all inclusive package) and it was worth every penny! The chef came out and carved it for us and wow was it delicious! Our servers Janko and Julien made the Bocados night so fun we had to go back a 2nd time! This was truly a 10/10 stay. Hotel Mousai is expensive but for me it is worth it every time. My mom had the most amazing experience being pampered by the staff, I am so grateful to everyone for making her feel special. Can’t wait to go back again and next time bring my sisters! The vibes, the food, the views- it just can’t be beat!!

This was our second trip to Hotel Mousai, and I am certain there will be a third. If you are looking for a peaceful, serene vacation, this is your place! We particularly enjoy the delicious food, divine cocktails/wines, friendly service, gorgeous views, and fun rooftop pool. Two "warnings." (1) While the address is in Puerto Vallarta, this is FAR from party atmosphere of downtown. Downtown is about 45 min away. This is not for you if you want to experience PV's nightlife. (2) They are doing construction in and around the grounds, which causes noise. This did not detract from our vacation, but you should be aware in case that matters to you. With that, Hotel Mousai is a beautiful place that quickly became our favorite vacation destination in Mexico. Now, I'm going to list some names. I know this is something guests are asked to do to support the staff, and it can feel a bit awkward and insincere. Let me assure you that I would not list one name if I didn't think each person was, in fact, exceptional. But they really, really were! Alan—pool concierge, Mousai North Ivette—spa team (mani/pedi) Gerardo and Ignacio—pool servers, Mousai North Cesar, David and Alberto—waiters at Dao Miguel—waiter at Hiroshi Marco—room service waiter If you are lucky, you will have these folks (or great staff just like them) help make your stay even more amazing. See you again, Hotel Mousai!

My wife and I have stayed here before and enjoyed ourselves. We previously stayed in Garza Blanca by the beach. While they pushed their meal packages and time shares hard, it is a pretty property with nice rooms (especially since we paid to upgrade to the honeymoon suite each visit). Last year we booked (and prepaid for) the honeymoon suite - when we checked in, they told us they had an upgrade available for us at hotel Mousai up the hill. While we enjoyed the adults-only aspect of it and the view, the room was not nearly as nice as the honeymoon suite at Garza (it was one of their standard rooms). Figuring that the hotel was more expensive, we never questioned it. Later, however, we compared prices and our honeymoon suite was much more expensive than the "upgraded" room at Mousai, so they downgraded us rather than giving an upgrade. With that said, we really like the area and the property so we booked a room at Mousai for this year. They put us on the bottom floor where we heard the people walking around outside all day and some at night. We asked (at least 3 times) if we could move to a higher floor and even offered to pay for an upgraded room - we were told that we would get a call from the manager each time to discuss, but we never once heard from the manager (or anyone else). That is not how I would have expected a multi-year guest would be treated (we have stayed here at least three separate trips on consecutive years). In addition, service here has gone way downhill in other ways. They forgot (or decided not) to leave us clean towels in the room, didn't clean parts of the room, didn't leave any water bottles (that they are supposed to leave daily), told us they would bring items to the room that they never did, etc. To add to the experience, the girl who checked us out did not give us a checkout slip. When our car arrived, the bellboy asked for it, so I went inside and asked the girl who was there. She was on hold on the phone and refused to also give us our slip while on hold (which was just sitting on a counter). Keep in mind, our car to the airport was waiting for us. Luckily, the one who checked us out came back after a few minutes and handed us our slip so we could leave. With all of that said, some employees are great. A couple of the doormen were very helpful (way more helpful than the front desk girls and concierges), and at least one of the cleaners is sweet and helpful. Overall, I'm glad we had this experience. We were planning to discuss purchasing a timeshare with hotel management, but after seeing how long-term guests are treated, we no longer have any interest in doing so. We will also never stay at any Garza Blanca/tafer resorts properties again.

Carlos is the best host. He made out stay 100x better. He really took care of us throughout the trip. The only thing i would say is that the north tower needs to be checked out some of the appliances are not working properly and its starting to show its age. The cabinet where the refrigerator is located heats up the snacks and liquor bottles as well which is inconvenient. Aside from that loved my time there and appreciate the great service from Carlos Ramos
