We have been staying at Villas Vallarta since January 26. Will be going home on the 10th of February. The hotel is older but conveniently located to the Marina and to the Malecon. The staff have been exceptional . We have been amazed how every...More
Let me begin by saying this was our second time in Puerto Vallarta, first time was at Canto Del Sol and we knew Villas Vallarta is only a 3 star hotel.
Bare light bulb in the bathroom and I could see straight through to...More
Seriously I cannot believe some of the negative reviews for Villas Vallarta. Obviously these people don't travel much or expect 5 star service and accomodations for a 3 star price.
TRUTH: This hotel is a 3 star, located in a busy section of town and...More
This check in was not express, do not pay for that option. The front desk personnel were not friendly and did not crack a smile. Once it became apparent we were not willing to sit through the timeshare presentation our service went downhill.

I stayed at Villas Vallarta with an all inclusive package to canto del sol and honestly, besides the buffets, we probably used the pool and day bar at Villas Vallarta more than we did at Canto Del sol because it was quiet, not packed, and convenient.
It depends what you're going for - if you like the pool entertainment and people watching and a swim up bar, and of course the convenience of lunch and dinner buffets whenever you want, you'll prefer having access to canto del sol... if you want to never have to "fight" over a chair or wake up early to save one, and have a pool to yourself with maybe 2 other people in it.. but have to get out of the water to go to the bar... and have an included breakfast but explore the restaurants around PV for lunch and dinner, then villas vallarta is for you.
