Hotel's Favourite
This is a wonderful place to stay. It was a fantastic location. And easy walk to many attractions or a fast taxi ride. This time of year is the slow season. It was not crowded at all. We arrived the day after hurricane Nora and everything was fine. I notice that some of the reviews were negative due to the hot and humid nature of the location this time of year. It’s true. That’s nature. This is a open air grand hotel. So the trade winds flow through from the front desk and all the common areas. It’s a wonderful feature. Due to the facts of COVID-19 that has moved throughout the world, many of the hotel rooms decorations and embellishments were removed to reduce touch and cleaning. Our room 1224 was very clean and worked very well. This room was a garden room with a partial ocean view. Watching and hearing the waves crashing was relaxing from our balcony. The main swimming pool was warm in the afternoon with the high heat of the day. So was walking on beach with water lapping at my feet. Watching the cruise ships leaving port was fun. The ships are higher then most of the hotel. This is the off season so the hotel was not at capacity. One night time restaurant and the buffet was open with changing menus. Didn’t you come to Mexico for the flavors? The food was wonderful. At the buffet look at all the stations before plating yourself, many options. With COVID sanitation in place everyone was given food service gloves before plating. The service at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Daily we were met with wonderful Mexican hospitality. I have to recognize some of the people that served us everyday. Raul, Victor, and Francisco while dining made us feel so welcome. Americans when you check in, ask for an appointment for your COVID 19 test. Its done on-site in a room near the front desk. It was very quick and easy. So do I need to tell you if I would return to the Melia Puerto Vallarta? You bet. Gracias.

All inclusive fare does not deliver good quality and tasty food. Compounded with the fact restaurant options are limited. You have to make a reservation for the restaurants which only take so many guests at dinner. Once the quota of guests to bw served is reached your only options are to go hungry, go to a restaurant outside the hotel, oe go to the horrible buffet. All inclusive for Melia means "buffet". It would be good if a new chef is hired. Bland food is the norm.

Dear Impossibletonhaveone, Thank you for sharing your experience. We regret this was your perception and we were not able to offer enough dining spots during your stay with us. Our safety and hygiene protocols require our restaurants to be respecting social distancing. We are nonetheless, doing our best to offer as many dining spots every night. We also appreciate your comments regarding the variety and quality of our menus, our Chefs and food, and beverage managers are check-in in on the options that can be added to these menus. We would love to host you again and show you the improvements we will be making. Best regards Guest Service Center Management

My husband, son and I when in a vacation to Puerto Vallarta stayed at Melia all inclusive. We had a great time there the employees were extremely nice. Señor Francisco, señor Victor señorita Lucia and Teresa always very attentive. The hotel is ok to stay. The tub is very dangerous as our son felt in it twice. Lots of little bugs not sure what they are.

Last minute trip to Puerto Vallarta with the family. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. Limited food choices with a daily buffet service and only one Italian restaurant for dinner that required reservations. Several activities throughout the day and a nightly entertainment show. Resort was just hit with hurricane Nora so pool was not the cleanest. A lot of debris in and around the water. A lot of harmless iguanas walking around sun bathing. Beach area was sadly smaller than expected. A lot of vendors walking around offering water activities. Rode the jet ski which was fun. Stayed in the premium ocean front room. Definitely worth it and highly recommend. Cleaning crew were pretty routine and always made sure we had everything we needed.
