We stayed at the tropicana for one week in early January.
Booked a last minute air and hotel deal. I was skeptical about the hotel from the get go. Lots of mixed reviews and it's an older hotel. All in all, it worked out great....More
I just got back and couldn't be happier with the location of this hotel. It's so hard to find a hotel on the beach that isn't an all-inclusive or ridiculously expensive. The Tropicana is in the heart of "Old Town/Romantic Zone". Don't expect fancy rooms,...More
Just spent two weeks at tropicana in a superior room and i would go back. Its older but clean and the staff friendly. As others have said the beds are like rocks and we had to go to costco and get an air bed or...More
First and foremost I'm beyond shocked at reading these recent reviews. I’m wondering if some of these reviews are bogus, maybe inflated by the property owners.
The positives are pretty much the pool, beach and outdoor staff. The location is okay but not as great as...More
Stayed at this hotel my last 4 visits to PV. Yes it is older, but clean and cozy. Close to zona Romantica and close to shops, bars, restaurants and coffee houses. Heading here again in March. Book the superior rooms!

It really don't matter if you hire inside or outside the terminal prices would be the same. The only taxi's allowed to pick you up at the airport are white in color and federally licensed. The cost would be about $20.us . But now having said that as you walk out of the terminal if you look to your left you will be just able to see an elevated walkway over the highway. On the other side there will be yellow taxi's waiting about $10 us and as you approach the walkway someone from the white taxi will approach and then you can negotiate cause they don't want to encourage ppl to cross. enjoy

Don't be surprised if it seems like they try to avoid your request as much as possible. Be persistent and hopefully they will accommodate you but believe me with my experience they only made things worse.
