Having stayed at Grand Mayan in Riviera, I know how Vidanta properties can be and unfortunately this one doesn't meet the standards. First I'll start off by stating that we stayed from 11/18-23/16 in a 2bd/2bath at the Grand. Our A/C in our room and as was throughout most of the Grand building was non functional the ENTIRE week. This...

Had a great time during our stay at the Grand Mayan. Vidanta properties are amazing, well kept, food good, pools plentiful, drinks reasonable , special thanks to the staff for a great time. Hired Sebastian to pick us up at airport and went without a hitch even though plane was delayed. Highly recommend his city tour and dinner on the...

Water and pools everywhere! Amazing service. Our room was road side and noisey-- so sitting on the balcony or having doors open was not an option. Air conditioning was fair in the room lacking in the main dining room making for a less than optimal dining experience. Pillows were horrendous in the rooms... we all forgot how important nice pillows...

Enjoyed the view from the oceanview side of the resort. The lazy river was fun for kids and adults. Unfortunately, there were a few issues -- a/c was on the fritz, making it rather warm in the dining room and hallways. Food in the resort (room service, main restaurant) was disappointing, except for the breakfast buffet and the pool restaurant...

Grand Mayan room 3726. Large, spacious 1 bedroom, with ocean view. Three restaurants, wonderful Italian food at their El Fiorno restaurant and great Paella at the Golf restaurant. Not cheap, but they offer six meal coupon books. Lush landscaping large standing reflection pools were a little green, but no mosquitoes. Excellent warm weather in late November. Great golfing. Recommend the...

Full of “topical” feeling, and even though the Maya were based in an entirely different part of Mexico, the styling and sheer size of the lobby area, the reproductions of Mayan artwork, the tropical breeze and open spaces, make a guest feel “now the holiday can start”. One can easily spend a week on the premises and never leave them,...

Very beautiful resort, but at the moment a construction zone. No swimming pool - under repairs for probably a couple of months. Lots of other construction around. Swimming available in the adjacent Mayan Palace and in the ocean. Staff delightful and try very hard, but it took 3 days to get our requested ocean view room as we were not...
