Detailed Reviews
My experience in Acapulco located in Mexico, was very nice and interesting, for the beaches and the attention in the hotel. It was very fun for the different attractions and the different places, the people with whom we had the opportunity to talk were very kind and respectful. My trip was with my family, we visited many places, restaurants where the food was very tasty and had a great variety of dishes, our stay at the hotel was very nice for the service that the hotel gave us, it had a great view and the place was very quiet, and we liked the rooms very much and the location of the hotel was very good. It was a great adventure and I would recommend it very much, for the different tourist places that Acapulco has, as well as the hotels and restaurants for their great service.

A very relaxing few days in the Malibu. Very friendly and attentive staff. A great pool right on the beach. Be careful if you want to swim in the sea here. Always check with locals first to see if it is safe as it can get rough. There are other beaches here where the swimming is safer than here. I like the area, lots of restaurants and banks and supermarkets. The room was spacious and had an individual aircon unit ( good in times of Covid) and fridge. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Their restaurant, Tabasco Beach, was very good for lunch and evening meals. Try the camarones al Coco! I found their breakfast prices a bit high but I decided to go there most days just for the convenience. The hotel was so nice I wanted to stay longer as it was so relaxing.

We spent a two week vacation at the Malibu hotel in Acapulco last year and I have to say it was one of the best places that I have ever been to. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Standard to accomodation was brilliant and Acapulco itself is outstanding. Little tip, go and see the cliff divers "wow". Definatley worth a second visit.

The Malibu was a fabulous hotel! Rooms were standard hotel rooms (loved the shower - the first shower in Acapulco I've seen that actually has great water pressure!), the pool and restaurant are good, and the hotel is right on the beach. Staff is friendly and helpful and provide excellent security at night for those single ladies. The Malibue is located right in the middle of all the action, a walkable distance away from Wal-Mart, CiCi's and all other hotels/restaurants etc... Great hotel!

I absolutely loved this hotel. All of the employees were super nice! Showers were awesome! Beachside front! Could see the ocean from the pool. Air Conditiong worked very well and it was much needed! Not to mention, the pancakes served at the restaurant were Fabulous! Definitely reccommend staying here to anybody and everybody!

I was a little leary about this hotel because there were no pictures and very little current information on trip advisor, so here is a rundown of what I think others would like to know:
The room- it was pretty large, adequate space, adequate bed. Nothing luxurious, but if you're like us, you aren't holed up in the room all day. It has a mini fridge, television and balcony. It DOES NOT have a hairdryer, microwave or in room safe, so make accomadations for that if needed. We got lucky with a top floor room with an ocean view, which was amazing, but I know that most of the rooms did not have ocean views.
The location- Wonderful! It is basically right in the middle of the main street in acapulco and nothing is very far away. The luxury hotels like the princess or the Mayan hotel are about a 45 minute drive and there is nothing over there. Those people that spent a lot of money on those hotels have to take 45 minute cab rides over to the main area. So the Acapulco Malibu is very conveniently located, only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle.
The beach-EEK! It's gorgeous, but the tides are pretty strong and the sand is like gravel. It made it really hard to walk on. It's about as grainy as what you would put in a fish tank. It's newer natural sand, so it hasn't been quite pounded away yet. Make SURE, to get a "casita" (canopy) on the beach early in the morning because the shade is much needed midday. There are NO TREES for shade, so you really need something.
The restaurant- Fantastic! Excellent service, inexpensive (meals are from 5-9 bucks), good drinks, good food. It's not a four star or anything, but neither are the prices. The breakfast egg dishes are delicious as well as the nachos and ceviche. The blended drinks are very good too. We sampled a lot over the week, and it was all very good. I would skip the chicken tacos, only because they're boring.
The Staff- very friendly and helpful. The money exchange rate is pretty decent as well. At least a few of them speak pretty good English, if it's needed.
Overall pros- the hotel was adequate and nice, the food was good, and the view was gorgeous. It gets the job done on a budget.
Overall cons- no hairdryers, no microwaves, not really a fun pool, grainy sand, pool towels have to be returned by 6 pm.

$109.00 per night to stay in this dump! The rooms are furnished with 1940 cheap Motel Six furniture that they probably got from some mental institution. The bed's are as hard as a sheet of marble. I got stuck in a room that faces the street with a restaurant directly below and the trash can has to be directly below me. The smell is really bad! I am writing this while I am in my room and there is construction going on right now. Hammers, drills and yelling and it's 10:00 p.m........ I called the front desk and they said they could not move me so I am going to another hotel tomorrow morning. I have stayed here many times for business but this is the last time. The restaurant is good but they have raised their prices and the pool and beach is good but then again you sleep, or try to, in the rooms. It seems here in Mexico that when tourism is down the hotels raise their prices instead of trying to keep the same standards. I'm really disappointed. DO NOT STAY HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

This hotel has always been a sort of tradition in my family, we have been coming here ever since I was a baby. And although the hotel´s installations have not changed a lot ever since, it still has that nice and comfortable feeling.
I now come here with my husband at least once a year; he didn´t know this hotel but he liked it ever since our first stay.
The rooms are very spacious and large, also the bathroom has the right size. Ammenities are provided and the cleanness of the rooms are always done on time. You also have a mini fridge available in every room and a small kitchenette in case you want to walk to a nearby grocery store and buy a few beers or snacks.
The pool could be a bit larger, but if you go in low occupation dates you don´t have to worry since you practically have it to yourself.
The restaurant serves a delicious buffet style breakfast with varied mexican style dishes and also a variety of fruits and fresh juices along with other options. We also have had dinner there and it´s also delicious if you don´t want to get out of the hotel and walk to nearby restaurants. The menu overall has a great price and variety for all tastes.
The service provided by the staff it´s always polite and friendly.
The hotel has an excellent location since it´s practically next door to the so called diamond zone in Acapulco where you can get to shopping malls, restaurants and other touristic atractions like the water park Cici Acapulco by walking since it´s so close to everything.
Definitely a come back and must visit if you´d rather save on your stay and would like to spend more on other touristic activities available at this great place.

My wife and her mum stayed at The Maibu 30/11/12 to 3/12/12 ( 3 nights ). The room was excellent same as last time we stayed only difference this time was myself and 2 daughters weren't with them. When we were there in 2011 we hired 2 rooms and all my wife's family ( who are from Acapuco ) stayed with us ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the 2 4 1 deal on drinks 18;00 to 20;00. They also used the pool as did the kids and had a really good time. HOWEVER not this time my wife was informed this time any guest's would have to pay 500 paso's EACH PER DAY to dine and use the facilities. ( That's roughly £26 each ) As the restaurant is fairly pricey all they were going to do was chill out and let the kids paddle in the kids pool which has a small slide that goes into no more than 2 foot of water. So my wife had to spend time away from the hotel and they all went to Crowne Plaza where her sister used to work and through 1 of the bosses got all the famil passes as non residents ( in the hotel ). Such a shame that different rules and greedyness stopped my wife and family from having a wonderful family re-union ( get together every 2-3 years ) and I say shame on you Hotel Malibu for this.

We've just returned from a 5 week stay in Acapulco and of the 5 hotels we stayed in this was the friendlist and most homely. We booked 2 rooms for 4 adult and 4 children in total and next to each other. The rooms we excellent cleaned twice a day with excellent air conditioning, fridges and a good size balcony with table and chairs.
