My family visited for 2 days at the end of a 1 week visit to Cartagena. I wanted to see the Rosario islands while living on an island, not as a day trip. So I found this hotel. It really is a family home on several acres of beachfront property planted with tropical trees and plants. Very relaxing. No TV...

I went with my boyfriend and we had a great time! It's relaxing, a place to go outside de city and the routine and just enjoy. The owners are really nice, we made some good friends their. Lunch, for example, is served for everyone together, so you get the opportunity to get to know other visitors. The room was AMAZING,...

I came here with a friend of mine and was immediately happy for a change of pace from Cartegena. It is a piece of paradise with simple but very comfortable and thoughtful rooms. You feel like it is home rather than a hotel with beautiful little touches such as photos of the family and personal decorative pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed...

The "lodge entrance" is a kind of garage or warehouse full of tools and trash not acceptable at all. Then our "room" was at the bottom of a 3 floor house with a total lack of privacy where the paper "curtains" where attached with tape fall off from the glass windows. The place in general has to be urgently updated...

You will appreciate this place if you are looking for a very secluded scenery with very modest accommodations, cold showers and waters that resemble more a lake than an ocean. The owner and her son are super great folks, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very rustic, nothing luxurious, and in our opinion, not worth $200 a night, no...

This is a personalized hotel in the middle of the tropical forest with a private beach to the sea. It is very difficult to bring the comfort the hotel has to this place and keep it ecological. However, Olga Lucia, the charming owner, has managed to make a tasteful little natural paradise. The rooms are open, and all beds have...

I spent a week with my gf in Cartagena and I wanted to take her somewhere special so I chose to come here for two nights in Feb 2016 including Valentines day. It is a beautiful little place including two or three houses right on the water on Isla Baru about an hour outside of Cartagena. There are two or...

This was one of the best trips we ever had. Living in New York, we wanted to get away from hectic, busy life style. So we were looking for a quiet and cozy place , not crowded. Olga's place was just that. The ambiance of the place, the atmosphere is something out of this world. We stayed in the big...

If I have to say only one thing is that I want to go back... I stayed there three days but I wanted to stay more. The nature of the surroundings, the architecture of the house which lets you be in contact with the environment. A beautiful room with a view to the trees and the skyline. A lovely outdoor...

There are many reasons to stay at Playa Manglares, but foremost among them is Olga, the owner, who creates a warm and highly personal experience. She seems genuinely motivated to serve people, not out of duty but out of appreciation that you have made the journey to her special corner of the universe. This hotel is a retreat from the...
