Though I'm certain this resort had its heydays, my 7-day experience really fell short and I was so glad it was over at the end of my stay. This was THE moment when I realised that Google and trip advisor reviews can also be so wrong. The reviews give this illusion that this place is a health-retreat, into the mountains etc. but it isn't - well at least for me. The hotel is located a quick drive into the alley of the busy main street. The area is quiet but not in the woods (which turned out to be an advantage because we had to scout for breakfast and dinners away from the hotel) During my stay, there were so many miscommunications amongst the hotel management though they spoke pretty good English. The hotel is owned by a helpful couple (German-speaking & Thai) who tried to make our stay better. In summary, I would only recommend this place for short stay of a night or two. PRO: + One of the cleaner, newer hotels in Krabi + Price was affordable (tho not value for money compared to other hotels) + The owners try CONS: - NOT SOUNDPROOF AT ALL... There was construction on the other side of the building and it was so so noisy. As it seems like it was commissioned by the hotel itself, it went on even after 7pm... You can hear people talking, laughing, walking and snoring from the next room - SNORING!!!. And it is not the fault of my next-door neighbour. I could have overheard the conversation had I known Thai and know when and how long my neighbour was talking a shower and going to the bathroom. It was THAT torturous. We made feedback to the hotel and apologetic, but this moves on to the next problem. - Not the most professional service My partner was expecting series of important meetings, so we had no choice but to do something about the noise level in the room. First, I asked if my neighbour was moving out. And I was told that they'd be checking out on the day. So I asked if it was possible for them to not put any guest in that particular room explaining the noise situation (I wouldn't have asked but because it was COVID period, the hotel was pretty much empty). They said 'sure, yeah, of course, thanks so much for your feedback blah blah' - only to check in another group of people to the next room ON THE DAY. I was absolutely befuddled, I asked again the next day, they offered a suite upgrade - but unfortunately, the suite was facing the construction area, so we did not take it. They were kind enough to halt the construction during the day of the meetings and offered another room to host the interview - I know they did everything they could and I appreciate it - but the entire process was such torture because of how unprofessionally it was done. I had to make many calls to follow up, felt awful putting the staff through the situation although it could have just been fixed if they had not check someone into the next room. Dining menu: My boyfriend and I were so confused by this experience. There's a rooftop area. When we walked up there was an unopened bar, so we went down to the concierge to ask if they serve any food up there, they said no - no problem! The second time we were there, there was a couple dining at the rooftop, so we asked if we could see the menu, they said no. So we were quite confused - no problem! When we met the owner lady, she suggested for us to dine within the hotel and she said 'yeah yeah, of course, anything you want' so I asked if we could see the menu, she said she will bring it up to us and even told the front desk staff to take care of it. And then this conversation went on for the next two days... 'where is the menu?' 'oh yeah, we'll give it to you. You have to try our chef's cooking' on and on... we did not receive the menu. - Breakfast We read so many good reviews about the breakfast here and after my experience, it almost feels like where I visited, was not the same place. I understand the COVID comes with a lot of budgetary restrictions but it is not difficult to offer something more substantial than toasts, fried rice and yoghurt, for the guest. We stopped eating breakfast after a few tries. - Gym or yoga service So during this period, the gym was not part of covid restrictions, meaning it was still allowed to open. I wanted to try the famous yoga classes that the reviews were talking about, but unfortunately "the yoga teacher went back home". We wanted to use the gym but it was locked. The staff said it was open and we just had to get the key to open it but it was soo dusty and must have been cleaned ages ago... We decided to pass.…
An incredible stay at this hotel. Amazing hospitality and room, what stood out was the cleanliness and small amenities such as the bath salt. Beautiful view from the large balcony and comfy seating area. The hospitality was superb and they went that extra mile to help with our future travels around Thailand, for example the bus and plane options. Really great couple who ran the hotel with a caring nature. Also nice breakfast included with a variety of options and evening/lunch meals.
Anana was wonderful from start to finish. The breakfast and in-house dining was delightful and the staff was friendly above and beyond. Every meal had a selection of veggies straight from the in-house organic garden. The view from the rooftop patio or from the beautiful salt pool was amazing each night. This is a wonderful place to stay. Looking forward to coming back again soon.
I was looking somewhere different with a bit of soul and trying to have the choice of quality while not too far from the beach and this was the perfect place. I loved that the pool, with fruit trees, is salt water and the food is frown on premises and that the establishment is trying to make a difference in their community. Bravo and I’ll be back soon!
The ambience is very nice and peaceful, very clean and very beautiful. Staffs are friendly as well. Not much guests due to the pandemic but this resort is highly recommended. Perfect for instagram photos and vlog!!!
