I paid around the equivalent of £550 for 3 nights for the room we had which was a one bedroom swim up room. I did expect high standards as this is the most I have paid for a room whilst in Thailand but wanted something special for myself and my husband.

On arrival the staff are pleasant and the room is tidy and clean. Unfortunately every swim up room is actually shaded from the sun which makes no sense to me, it makes the rooms dark and you wouldn’t sunbathe on your own balcony so seems a bit pointless.

The actual pool is quite dirty not as glamorous as it looks in the pictures.

We were told the breakfast is an American style breakfast, I can’t say I’m that bothered either way but my husband was disappointed to see that the breakfast was actually Thai style completely. I would only have eggs on toast anyway so actually really don’t mind but noodles, rices and soups definitely aren’t American haha!

Our room backed on to what must be their sewerage drains and absolutely stank. We had to hold our breath walking in and out of the entrance of our room and the walk down to the hotel reception, I’m pregnant and my sense of smell is so sensitive it was making me heave.

Our room was nice all be it dark, it was clean and tidy and there was always fresh water, tea and coffee making facilities etc.

There were a couple of times we found cockroaches in our room but that’s hardly the hotel’s fault, this is Thailand!

There was a lovely big spa bath, however on running the bath the jets didn’t actually work, so that was a shame.

On the whole I wouldn’t pay that kind of price to stay here again to be honest.

However the staff are very nice and helpful, the location is incredibly convenient near to shops, restaurants and the beach, and it’s quiet at night considering we are in the middle of town.

The hotel location was very good, right in then middle of the busy district.
There is Starbucks, McDonald’s, Burgerking around the neighborhood and a 7-11 right outside the hotel.

The room is decent, only down side was abit old.
Booked a jacuzzi room but the bathtub jacuzzi was not working.
The pool access villa was nice, directly connected to the pool.
During the night time tends to get a little dark as there are limited of lights around, perhaps due to the eco friendly environment.
The room door is the old school type of lock, not the card sensor type, hence for safety perhaps need to be more careful.
The hotel can help you book car to other attractions, we booked a car to krabi town for 600 baht per way.
Overall the hotel is quite decent.

We had a wonderful time in villa P11. The pool was fabulous. The guys at the pool bar were wonderful, fantastic watermelon shakes!!
The room needs a remote control for the aircon, as we had to get up 10 times a night to put it on and off.
Also the chairs on our veranda were very uncomfortable. The staff did give us some too large cushions but it was still uncomfortable.
The food was wonderful, especially the chicken fried rice!!

Came here to stay with family and only stayed one night. On arrival we were up 2 flights of stairs (no lift). Upon entering the room the room temperature was 31 degrees and very basic. Before going out for dinner we realised there was no was to leave air con on when going out as the room key was welded to the card block which was needed to stay in the slot for electricity. Staff were unhelpful and unwilling to produce another key or card block so the AC could be left on to lower the room temperature. There was extremely poor water pressure within the shower and we had zero hot water!! Upon waking the following day and having an extremely poor breakfast, there was no sun beds. There are only approx 25 for many more guests. Safe to say we left after 18 hours for a wonderful hotel just next door. Was informed by staff we were not entitled to a refund

This was our 3rd time at this hotel and our 2nd time we have stayed in one of the water villas. These villas are great! you have your own entrance to the pool and a good sized balcony, so there is no rushing down in the morning to grab a sun bed. The rooms are kept immaculate with tea and coffee making facilities, 2 bottles of water supplied daily and a stocked fridge. The bathroom is large with a large bath and a walk in shower room.
The hotels restaurant is open onto the road so the prices are very competitive and the food is good with great service.
The location is perfect, when around the pool it is very quiet but once you get to the end of the hotel drive it's buzzing with shops and restaurants, so plenty of choice. There is also a small 7/11 supermarket at the end of the drive, tuk tuks are parked just opposite .
If you are looking to go here and your budget runs to it I would seriously reccommend the Swim Up Pool Villas.

I dined there a few days ago, hoping for a good steak. I asked the hostess how big the sirloin was, and she said "six honnert gram." I also asked for no potato, no French-fries, maybe some vegetables?

The steak might have been 150 grams. It was about a centimeter thick (less that 1/2 inch), and though it was red inside, it was tough as an old shoe. It arrived with French-fries and bread, which I sent back immediately, and a "serving" of vegetables that was meant as a garnish or an afterthought.

I'm sorry their water-buffalo died, but did they have to cook it for my supper?

The first issue was the unbearable heat in the rooms, when we arrived the room temp was 34 degrees. The in room ac was absolutely awful. To make matters worse you have 2 choices, leave the room with the key card and the ac turns off so you return to a room hotter than the sun or you gamble and leave the room unlocked... There is a major shortage of sun lounges, one morning we went down at 7 am to find all beds had been taken. They didn't have anywhere else to relax other than the beach which was a 5 min walk away. The breakfast I wouldn't serve to a stray dog. The front of house staff were rude and unhelpful. Rooms very dated. It was that bad we moved to Ao Nang Villa next door within 24 hours.

Awful hotel. It says 4 star but it’s 3, which Google confirms.
Outdated, staff turn up to work to just sit and play on their phones and don’t actually serve guests that paid in the hotel. Hotel bar was shut. The restaurant had no customers when every other restaurant nearby had customers. They weren’t interested and lazy.
Rooms are outed and dirty.
Room cleaners didn’t clean properly and always left dirty bed sheets.
A/C was ridiculously noisy and couldn’t get any sleep.
We paid for 15 days and we left after 12 and stayed in the Dusit d2 which was amazing!
Avoid at all costs

If you are wanting a clean, friendly hotel this is NOT the hotel for you.
The hotel is next to koko hostel that plays loud awful music every night! It’s sounds like it’s been played in your room!!
1) There is no beds around the pool (7in total) and rooms with the swim up are all in the shade.
2) No Hot water in shower
3) We had dirty bed sheets with blood on them
And the hotel refused to help at first as it was late. They expected us to sleep the first night in the bed.
4) The icing on the cake when a water pipe burst flooding our room and had water coming in from the lights in the ceiling!!! SO DANGEROUS!
We checked out and stayed in a better hotel up the road with kind friendly staff and for almost the same cost and even had a swim up room at the Bluesotel.
We were lied to by the manager claiming come tomorrow I will refund you , come tomorrow I will refund you! and was asked to return every day for 3 days to get a refund… she never gave it to us and just argued with us. She spoke over me every time I spoke and was incredibly rude!
I had to listen to her beg me not to write a review as she has children and told me her life issues of not having a holiday herself.
We not only took photos and videos but heard other residents complain about issues!
I can not believe this is a 7.7 rating on Aggoda and is represented by TUI !
My worst experience in Thailand having been here several times.
And YES still NO refund!

Enjoyed all aspects of our stay. Paid a little more for "Pool view" and got that plus mountain view! Staff very friendly, breakfast buffet was good (Omelet maker a plus!) No bacon but had Italian salami and smoked chicken! Pool was awesome but no evening hours, close 7pm; we swam and walked (chest high) around the island a lot. Beds had memory foam or something; comfy! Room looked to be remodeled, had new pergo floor and nice black slate in the bathroom. Water pressure pulses a bit, but temp consistent. Location was perfect, 150m from main beach street, so it's close for walking, but not in busy area. AND... 7/11 is right by the entrance, yaaa! Orchid is not luxury resort, but NICE, we loved it.

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
How can I go to this hotel from airport? Does it use private car or a bus?
Answer from Torill K

You can take the Airport Bus. It's cheap and you buy the ticket inside the terminal before you go out. You just tell the busdriver the name of your hotel, and he will stop there.

my recent booking for superior only consisted of 1 queen size bed and 1 sofa. If it consisted 1 extra single bed, i believe there will be an additional charges. If not sure, just approach the reception and clarify.
