Best thing is the location next to a shopping centre. Not flash as it needs a good clean. Nice view of the adjacent forest marred by grime on the wire door. Someone finally swept the verandah and got rid of bark and tree leaves and smokers’ remains that looked like they had been there for a week. Cheap especially if you pay cash! Very average take away dinner from in-house restaurant

Situated beside the local shopping centre this motel had a restaurant and bar and offered comfortable accommodation. The Mexican inspired restaurant offered good quality food and a hearty breakfast was served there in the morning. We had an early start on our last day and it was no trouble for the owners to get us on our way. Recommend.

Good location close to shopping centre and sleep comfort being the only positive factors. Bed was very low, staff unfriendly and abrupt, and venue needs a good clean. Hallways etc were dirty and lots of leaves in outdoor areas. Wi fi passwords required and seemed to be an effort for reception staff to provide. Cash insisted on for bar service and meals were only OK, but lacking in freshness.

As previously stated, rooms are dated ,dirty with mould in bathrooms. Not a relaxing place to stay at all.
House keeping came to make up the room and only pulled up the outer cover (which doesn’t seemed to have been washed in some time ) over the sheets without actually making the bed
Only stayed for work but will not be coming back
Used washing machine and the clothes came out stained. The manager didn’t want to take responsibility as the machine on his site is run by someone from Cairns.

Stayed one night, room is dated, dust, dirt under the bed, bed is light and rolls around the room and can't sit up on it against the wall without it pushing away from wall. Chairs and chase would be better suited in a castle. No breakfast offered. No ceiling fan, one power point behind the bed and not practical.

Stayed at the Heritage. Great central location in Weipa next to Woollworths supermarket. But the visit is spoiled by the rude behaviour of Steve, the manager. I have been to 155 countries and round the world ten times but have never struck a manager who did not have customer care at the top of his agenda, His approach shocked me1

Stayed here for work for two weeks. Quirky furniture in the rooms but bed was comfy.
Restaurant does breakfast but I was up too late to partake. It's also open for dinner Mon-Thurs.
You are in Weipa don't be expecting the Ritz but it's clean and comfortable. There's also a pool and laundry.
Next door to main shopping area (woolies is closed on Sundays) and across the road from "Eat Street" takeaway vendors.

I stayed 7 nights, 4 days without hot water. No basic eating utensils. No information pack with details of motel services nor places to see in Weipa. Bathroom exhaust fan not working. The floor and cupboard were dirty. I used the ironing board as a table. The fire extinguisher is poorly positioned. There are insufficient power points. I bought a double adaptor. The refrigerator is rusty. No phone to the front desk. Apart from the above, all good.

Disappointing. Says kitchenette but a microwave and that’s it. No cutlery or crockery. No microwave container….nothing. No powerpoints. Dated decor and fittings. Needs an overhaul including the management who have the personality of a rock. No smiles or greetings. No room information or compendium. Wouldn’t return

So, we had to do a work trip to Weipa, and our employer informed us that the Hertitage was the closest hotel to the premises. So we called to book and the skillfully deceptive asian lady on the phone gave us a price for the night, and we also booked airport transfers for a quite large fee of $50. Arrived in Weipa, no transfers. We waited an hour at the airport and phone rang out at hotel. We ended up getting a last minute hire car. had we known what was in store, we would have stayed further up in town elsewhere.

We get to this place, nestled behind a Woolworth's and small shopping arcade. It stinks, looks dreadful and is confusing to find the reception. We inquired about the transfers, and she looked at us with the look of 'oh crap' i just forgot. Gave us some lame excuse story that kept changing. They then charged us the room with the transfers still on despite us arguing the fact. When we asked for a tax invoice, it was a hassle, took forever and didn't have a breakdown of the charges, just $195 ROOM.

The pool area had a dog running rampart, and around were many guests as there was only WIFI in this area, not the rooms. All staff here are Asian, and I was dutifully told by another long term guest, that at one time this place was a hot spot of night time activity, but has cleaned itself up a little,,, now apparently if you wish for such service you just ask for 'fresh towels to be delivered to your room personally'

The room was a mix of both extremely gaudy and old furniture and strange modern pieces. items were broken and incredibly dirty, the room smelt, the aircon barely held 25 degrees all night. the shower was moldy and toilet ran constantly. The beds were the saving grace as they were comfy, but i had gecko poop on mine. At least i hope it was Gecko poop.

Around 1am we had some of the local population having an argument outside over some alcohol, yelling extreme profanity at each other, this went on for a bit, and as the sliding rear door lock was broken off they just had a little door chain keeping it closed..... real safe.

I gotta say, this ranks pretty high on our list of places to never return to. Could have been better, but was just so bad in so many ways.
