We were looking for a short break to visit Cheddar Gorge, Weston super mare and the Mendips - and what a lucky find. The food was amazing, highly recommend the home made raspberry tart - the rooms were tastefully done and had everything you could need. Staff were friendly and helpful - we will most definitely be back

A nice little pub, with a busy bar full of locals at lunchtime. A good range of choices on the menu, with reasonable pricing. Just had the burger with egg and chips - but found it to be a very reasonable sized serving, which was more than adequate as a lunchtime meal.

We stopped here overnight en route to Bristol airport and in order to visit a friend who lives in the village. She had not actually recommended this place and it does look a bit scruffy. Our room was large and rambling,, accessible through a very low door. It contained a double and a single bed but not much more furniture...

We've just spent two nights at the Penscot Inn and loved it. The accommodation was really comfortable, breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of on site parking available just outside. The main attraction however was the warm and friendly family who own and run this establishment. From the moment we arrived to the time we booked out, we were...

We stayed here one night while on a walking tour through Mendip Way. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The dinner was unexpectedly good for a pub, with a large and varied menu. The location in the small town of Shipham is quiet but convenient for nearby sights and Cheddar Gorge.

Jan and I stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend. The Inn is just as we expected - an old English inn that was converted from 3 cottages. My view is that if you want to spend a weekend in Somerset, then get into the spirit of it and save the large hotel chains for different occasions. We found the...

Best burger & chips or fish & chips for the kids (and Dad), and scallops & chorizo salad for busy Mum in Shipham. Service with a smile too ;-) Thank you. The bar always smells deliciously of a wood fire, which is always lit when chilly.

We stayed here a few years back and were pleasantly surprised this place is prime location to all local attractions hence why we booked it but would definatly reccomend for even a little quiet escape now we've been. It had a cosy feel we were very welcomed had a lovely meal and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This small B&B had a very interesting local feel. From the decoration of the bedroom to the bathroom that only had a bath tub instead of a shower is what made this place feel very traditional. The location of this Hotel was fairly close to Cheddar Gorge (3.5 miles) in which we were visiting at the time and we had...

I stayed here with girlfriend last week the owners greeted me with a nice warm welcome. Bar area was basic but fine decor on way up to room was quite dated and old. Got to room which was more modern than I thought it would be. Bathroom very basic but clean Breakfast was excellent next morning
