We stayed for one week in the Nany cottage and could not have been happier. Beginning with the plate of cherries and walnuts left in our room, complete with a bottle of cold water in the fridge, to the invitation to join the breakfast table because we had arrived too late to purchase anything for breakfast--I could not have felt more welcome. We drove out daily to different places to enjoy the Drome Provence, and easily travelled to St. Remy de Provence, Nyons, Grignan, Val de Romaine, etc. Our experience was enhanced completely by this gite with its' beautiful pool that my daughter swam in daily, and the outdoor seating and tables that we lounged at the day before our departure. I hesitate to crow too loudly as I think there may be no vacancy when we arrive next year--really one of the loveliest environments at a very reasonable price.…
We stayed at the Gite du Val des Nymphes for 10 days, driving out from that base daily to soak up the beauty and history of the area. The closest hilltop village is La Garde Adehemar, but the area has many such villages dating back to the 12th century, replete with Roman ruins, huge castles, narrow twisting streets climbing to high vistas of the surrounding area. It is a very rural area with beautiful fields of lavender and wheat, as well as olive, apricot and walnut groves, and groves of oak trees with truffles growing on their roots. The gite itself is historic--the oldest building dating back 400 years--but the accommodations are updated inside the two-foot thick walls. We were in a one-bedroom apartment which includes a tiny kitchen fully furnished. There is TV if one is interested, and a fold-out sofa for another bed. There is no air-conditioning, but an oscillating fan kept us comfortably cool at night. There are clothes washers and clothes drying lines for the use of guests. Isabelle and Christian are wonderful hosts and Isabelle is a great cook. Much of the ingredients of our meals there came from their own farm or those of their neighbors. We had breakfast at the gite each day and many dinners there under the linden trees, starting with apertifs and ending several hours later with cheese, dessert and coffee. We would like return to Gite du Val des Nymphes again and again.…
I can't recommend Gîte du Val Des Nymphes enough. Christian and Isabelle were wonderful hosts, giving us a warm welcome and a wonderful stay. We shared a lovely outdoor dinner at the farm one night with the other guests at the Gîte. It was a delicious farm-to-table meal prepared by our gracious hosts that was authentic to the region- ingredients from the farm, family recipes and local wine. A nice breakfast that included fruit from the farm, fresh bread, homemade jam and jelly that Isabelle made (and has for sale). The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable (no air conditioning). There was a nice pool to relax next to, as well as ample seating all around the property to enjoy the lovely Provencal air and share conversations with friends. It was nice to be close to such villages like Grignan and La Garde Adhémar. We couldn't have asked for a lovelier or dreamy Gîte in the French countryside of Provence.…
Nice clean 4 person apartment with private bathroom. Nice pool and much outdoor seating and tables to enjoy around apartment. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with other guests staying at the Gite. Wild boar and potatoes au gratin, fig crumble, aperitifs and digestifs plus local wine. Most ingredients from the family's land around the Gite. Breakfast included each morning. Close drive to Grignan and some smaller towns. No air conditioning in our apartment, but we have found that not to be unusual throughout Europe.
This is a lovely place to stay, set in beautiful countryside just a few kilometres from La Garde Adhémar. The owners are very welcoming. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and have an area outside where you can sit and enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. There is plenty of space for safe off-road parking. Breakfasts are excellent with home-made jams (the owners grow their own fruit and olives and make jams, juices and olive oil). We do not eat meat, but we had the evening meal there and they made an effort to cater for us. The meal was really nice, with good local wine and a home-made digestif, We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area,
