Steak night tonight but we went for the steak and ale pie.Lots of meat in the pie ,generous portions of veg. A refurbished village pub that has not yet been discovered. When it is it will be difficult to get a table. Because it is a no no fuss ,honest to goodness traditional pub with grey food and not forgetting a...

Fancied a nice Sunday roast dinner but couldn't be bothered to cook just for the two of us. Had heard good things about the Cock Inn so thought we would give it a try. I'm so glad we did. One of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had along with friendly service. I would highly recommend a visit. Great food...

Booked short notice but still squeezed us in. Lovely Sunday lunch with the family in the cosy snug. Extra gravy without asking and sessional veg, if you have a big appetite you will love the portion of food !

Visited the Cock Inn half way through a day's walk around Gt Sampford, Hempstead, The Camps and Horseheath on 17 October 2015. Party of four muddy men with five dogs, but the landlady didn't bat an eyelid. Out came the dog treats and bowls of water and we were looked after royally. An unusually good menu and real value for...

Joined family & friends for a birthday celebration meal. We had pre-ordered as there were 24 of us eating, it was well organised, service was good and food was lovely. Well done to all the team, we had a great night, thank you. 😃 Will definitely recommend 😃

The barmaid was very welcoming and friendly towards us. We didn't try the food, but enjoyed a drink out in the sunshine. There was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The inside of the pub had a real traditional feel to it.

I have eaten here a number of times now. I love it. Lesley and her team are so friendly and the food is brilliant. Their burgers in particularly are very special. They have regular live music and a brilliant selection of ales. The pub has nice atmosphere.

The food choice here is limited on a Sunday as they seem to aim for their roasts. Although they do have a separate burger menu. The meat itself was very nice and tasty, the roasts really nice plus you got mash potato and suede as well. The only small comment is the vegetables did take a little while to appear...

stopped at this pub for a one night visit, friendly staff and a warm reception, rooms are small but adequate, food in the pub is good value and they serve real ale which is a bonus, very peaceful location but nothing to do in the village,
