We arrived for an early lunch last Sunday. We'd been for a walk and just wanted something quick as my brother needed to get away. When we arrived at the bar, a large party sat down at one of the tables for Sunday lunch. I explained that we were in a hurry, would like a recommendation for something quick and...

Six of us spent one of our best weekends together. We love walking and enjoyed plenty of that. Great accommodation. The Manager, Keith could not do enough for us. The meals were fantastic. Never seen so many fish dishes on an evening menu. We were tempted to stay longer than the three nights so we could sample every choice! But...

We dropped in hungry for one course and enjoyed very fast and friendly service. I had a gluten free thai green curry and hubby (not gf) had a huge plate of scampi and triple cooked fries. Lovely big portions and great to have something interesting that was gluten free. Dogs also welcome which is a huge bonus. Plenty of parking...

Very clean and comfortable, recently refurbished room with large ensuite upstairs. The food (& beer) in the pub was excellent. I recommend the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast ! A short stay while visiting our daughter in Oxford. Will definitely visit again.

Had an overnight stay when visiting a horse-racing yard in Lambourn about 10 minutes drive away. Wish we had stayed longer and will definitely visit again. Wonderful olde-world English pub, meeting all your expectations of one; a roaring log fire and low beams then delivering more in the form of excellent accommodation and exceptionally good quality breakfast. Keith is the...

Had a fabulous stay here on a very short stop over. Whilst visiting friends. The staff where helpful and friendly. The room was gorgeous and very well presented modern and clean. I liked the unusual feature of the bathroom being upstairs. All looks like it's been recently decorated. The food was great. Enjoyed both dinner and breakfast! Will stay here...

We stopped off at The White Horse pub after 2 hrs walking on the Ridgweay to see the Uffington White Horse. The pub was authentic, warm and had a good choice of food with plenty of space for us over lunch. We opted for the open sandwiches (about £7 each) and were delighted with the food: large servings, plenty of...

Delicious food with a wide choice. The food arrived quickly and was lovely. A lovely old pub with low black beams. The seats and table at the front give a nice view of the village. A nice fireplace near our table was welcome for Australians :)

Previously had very good service and food, but this weekend had poor customer service, was put on a table we had not requested even though we had booked an area away from the door several weeks ago. Lunch took over an hour to get to us, service extremely slow and the onion rings soggy and just warm. Not cheap either...

Visited here with a mixture of kids and adults. The food was uniformly very good. The burgers are excellent and the portion sizes very good. Starters also act as small mains so very well portioned. For kids they do almost anything on the menu in half portions at half price which helps with choices. Price wise £14 for a burger...
