Where to start!! Well I shall start with Barbara who was fantastic coming in extra early to make us breakfast and even went to the trouble of doing our washing for us, very comfortable rooms which were cleaned every day! The restaurant down stairs was also to a high standard with very efficient staff and cracking food!! Definitely stay here...

Had a celebration meal here because we were staying nearby. The food was reasonably priced and menu was varied. Unfortunately it was nothing startling and the mains were pretty average. Thats the negative side. On the plus side, a bottle of wine was very reasonable priced and the dessert was good. The service was very good and staff very friendly....

Stopped for a night just before catching the early morning ferry. Well, the food in the restaurant was good, very good. Also the service came with a smile and the quality was sure above average. Nice atmosphere in the bar too. The room, however, was a disappointment, value for money very poor here. The place has been lived in many...

Recently stayed in this hotel during a business trip. The hotel is in a nice location which makes it easy to get around North and South Uist as well as Benbecula. Good selection of food on the menu including daily specials. The hotel appears to be popular with both visitors and locals which is alway good to see. The rooms...

The standard menu is the standard run of the mill pub menu but the specials included crab claws and mushroom risotto and risotto with monk fish among other less obvious options. The service was fine and the setting OK.

We ate here in August, took quite a while of standing at the bar, shuffling our feet, before the staff decided to stop chatting and serve us, had there been anywhere else to eat locally we would have left after that display of rudeness. The food was good, the one ale was poorly kept.

I was in a group of 4 friends cycling so it was hard to get accommodation for all of us in the area so we were glad to find a hotel that could put us all up. The price per person was less than a B&B we stayed at further on in our journey, but this was not the cheapest...

People could not have been nicer, food was fine and the specials menu especially good. Mattresses a bit soft but that's a personal opinion. A safe haven during island odyssey. Well situated on West of Island. We had a great time.

South Uist does have a limited number of places to eat in the evening. The food at the Borrodale is very good. I had seafood linguine and others had scallops and black pudding, and bruschetta, pesto and tomato. Very nice. The linguine was excellent. It's worth noting however that prices, which do look competitive, don't actually include vat which is...

Hi Harry, Thank you for your kind review, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your meal with us. With regards to the VAT, this is included in the prices quoted on the menu. Our receipts do show a breakdown of the VAT for the use of those who need this but it is most certainly not added as an...
