One of the reasons we booked this motel was having come from overseas , we required wi fi for the five days . The Motel wi fi was non existent , even though management said they were getting it sorted , so we had to resort to roaming at a further cost. The Motel itself was fine and clean, except we’re not use to cleaning teeth in the kitchen sink , which served as the bathroom also !

I've stayed at this property before and didn't remember the name of it. We booked a double room for my son and I travelling for business. This room set up was completely different from the single I have previously stayed in. This room had windows up high in the shower and toilet, that were open to the room. The windows remained open, there is no way I could find to close them. Seems a little expensive to run the A/C with the windows open? We had a good nights sleep but was woken up early by a ute that backed into the parking spot under one of the windows. It sounded like it was in the room with us. Also no way to block the light coming through them. The single room I stayed in before was completely different from this one. Everything is close to the motel, it's at the edge of a shopping centre. Walked across the parking lot and had a nice dinner at the pub. I'd stay here again if I were travelling alone.

Used as an overnight stop, booked 3 rooms, all were clean but basic. Back doors didnt lock on two of them which was unnerving but there was no handle on the outside so couldn’t be opened
Receipt in very pleasant when checked in.
Close to a pub for dinner and cafe for breakfast

Excellent stay for a week whist visiting for my Dad's 90th. Clean room. Friendly staff, very comfortable bed. Only suggestion would be a small shelf in the bathroom as nowhere to place toiletries. Other that all good. Will book again in the future.

The floor in the living area was very sticky, so bad we kept our shoes on the whole time. The shower head was loose and coming away from the wall and the room was very tired and in desperate need of a refresh. There is a note stating that there is a cleaning fee if dishes etc are not washed up. That's the point of going away - to have a break from domestic duties. Our room was directly across from the entrance so it was very noisy on the gravel road and we could hear everyone coming and going. We were stuck in the old and rundown part - possibly the newer rooms might be better value - but they should have the price reflect the 2 standards depending on where they put you. It was only that it was walking distance to the engagement party we were attending that we stayed there. We had a King room and the bed was comfy and the towels were nice but that's it.... certainly overpriced and NOT what I would consider a 4 star

On arrival, full payment was already deducted from our credit card. We were soon to find out why.
Room was dirty with side tables caked in grime. My partner ran her nail across the table and a neat circle of grime formed. It got worse, we had an unwelcome peeping Tom peering intently into our room one morning. When challenged, he claimed he had the ‘wrong room’. When raising this matter with management we were told that we were lying and then aggressively asked ‘what did we plan to do about it?’
The pool is empty…wi-fi didn’t work either. Fridge was in a constant state of semi-defrosting and saturated everything beneath the freezer compartment each morning.
Would not consider staying here again which would probably make management quite happy. They don’t like the interruptions of guests coming to stay - means they might need to be friendly and accomodating. Something we felt didn’t come easy to them.

The website says one thing, the reality is another. There is no pool, despite the sparkling water photo. Facilities are very basic indeed, despite the AUD160/night. We paid for a 6 night stay, and after 3 nights our room had not been cleaned, nor had the towels, sheets and linen been changed. I had to ask for the room to be serviced, but when we returned from our day out, nothing had been done. Soiled towels, an overflowing rubbish bin and sheets were left untouched. I went back to the office to get extra toilet rolls myself, and ask again for the room to be cleaned. On our final night, the sheets were changed - but the towels were left just as we left them! At one stage, I dropped something behind the chest of drawers. When I moved the drawers to retrieve the fallen object, I was greeted with rubbish from who knows how long ago. Now I know for $160 I should not expect 5-star luxury, but this motel struggles to achieve the modest 3-star rating.

Response from Anya Richardson, General Manager at Kallangur Motel
Responded 3 May 2024
Dear Mr. Young We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience at our Motel. We take cleanliness and comfort very seriously, and we are sad that you feel we are falling short in these areas. I have personally given you extra towels, changed your bin and gave you a lot of extra milk that you asked for stating your wife wants to make scrambled eggs (although we don't have cooking facilities in our rooms, only toaster, kettle and microwave, cooking is not allowed for safety reasons). We even found you some salt on the second day, when your wife asked for it. You asked a cleaner to fix your aircon because it isn't working, when she got there, she found your wife hanging clothes on the curtain ledge and she was yelling at our cleaner that she is cold and she doesn't want any aircon. To make this clear, aircon was and still is working. When our cleaner left the room all shocked, you apologized for falsely sending her there, stating you just wanted to have a cigarette in peace. That same cleaner told you on other day she wants to change your linen and asked politely to move your belongings off the bed because cleaners are not allowed to touch them. She came to the room to clean and change the linen 15 minutes later, everything was still on the bed and you left. Therefore she just did normal clean. Your towels were changed unless you had a "Do not disturb sign" on your door. As for the pool this Motel used to have; pool is closed for over 2 years now. There are no pool advertising on any Travel Agency page, at least not under our authorization. Your booking was made over the phone, you called us directly, we spoke for about 10 minutes. I remember we also went out of our way to organize early check in on the most busy day of the week, Friday, to make your visit easier and better. I truly hope you will find in your heart at least some nice things to remember from your stay in our Motel, as we really tried our best to make you feel comfortable and accommodate you.

On Tuesday we booked into the Kallangur Motel - two and might I say elderly women. The friend who did the booking stipulated that we required two beds. We checked in and found that we had been allocated a double bed. So back to the office she went and was advised by management that was the only room available. Except for a loft room. My friend is quite severely incapacitated which major back leg and foot problems. Having to go down the stairs to the toilet was not an option for her. Then my friend asked if they had a trundle bed or similar - no was the reply.
We had to borrow a stretcher from my friends brother. Not good.
We have been staying at the Kallangur Motel for quite a few years and have never had any issue. We volunteer at an Aged Care Facility close by many times a year.
The blanket which was in the chest of drawers had long black hairs on it.
The toilet roll holder was very loose and the tap mixer in the bathroom very faulty. An accident waiting to happen.
The only place we could wash up cups etc was in the bathroom sink. Not very hygenic.

I booked three nights for a family friend who was visiting town. Wasn’t sure what to expect but they had a very comfortable three day stay. Rooms were great, close to all amenities. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Due to COVID lockdown my friends flight home to NSW was cancelled and rescheduled to that evening. The staff allowed and extra late checkout free of charge which saved so much stress & worry. Can’t thank them enough for being so accommodating. Will definitely recommend this motel.

The photos on the website must have been taken a while ago as not really current with age and wear and tear. If you are budget conscious it might work for you. Quite noisy at night.we were woken by other guests playing boom box type music we Had dinner at leagues club which was a surprise. Very nice food
