At first our stay in Barbados was so disappointing! Once we moved to our new accommodation, the Sea-U! Guest House, the whole thing took another turn! Now it was paradise! The staff of the guest house was so considered and super friendly. They gave us the best recommendations for visiting the Island and told us about a great dive center....

We had a fabulous time. Met a group of people who were also guest and made great friendships. We all got together and took a taxi (van) to The Crane resort and dinner on the west coast. Sea-U is quiet and friendly. The staff is great. Breakfast in the AM in the outdoor dining and dinner as well was wonderful....

Sea-U is about as far away as you can get from the upscale hotels and resorts on the west side of Barbados. Set upon a cliff the roar of the ocean is constantly present. The staff are efficient and pleasant. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was good; not great. We stayed for dinner every...

Everything about Sea-U was amazing, the location, the staff, THE FOOD, just great. The bar is on the honor system which just feels so nice to automatically be trusted, the food we had for dinners was delicious (and I asked for the recipes and am actually getting them! how nice!). The rooms were spacious enough but nice and cozy. The...

Four nights was not enough! I wish that we had stayed longer. It takes a bit to get to Bathsheba...and it is SO different from the west and south coast tourist areas. But, if you desire the real laid-back lifestyle of Barbados, the Sea U can be your spot in paradise. Come ready to relax. The main house and air-conditioned...

We booked ourselves into the fancy one bedroom apartment overlooking the beach with the 'explorer' package, that comes with a air-conditioned hire car. A hire car is a real must in this location, unless you want to brave the frequent, but insanely driven local buses - Sea-U is very out of the way, a good 30 min hike from the...

Everything about the Sea-U! Guest House was perfect in my opinion. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were treated so well by the staff. They are helpful, pleasant and courteous. Uschi, the owner, creates a comfortable atmosphere for the staff and guests to really enjoy Sea-U! and the nature surrounding it. Uschi created the entire place with...

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in Barbados because old friends live there and love it. We wanted sea, but not crowds. So the east coast was the answer - but a car is necessary, if you want to see the rest of the island, especially the bright lights. And if you want to swim safely in the sea....

We have only been back one week and already we are planning our next trip back. We got married in Barbados and stayed at the Sea-U as a honeymoon. Uschi and the staff's hospitality was incredible. We looked forward to the family style dinners and relaxing breakfasts. There is plenty to do on the island, but it is great to...

Sea-U In a nutshell Positives: - Beautiful property - Lovely staff [esp. in the kitchen and Seacat (sp?)] - Great dinners at the comfort of your home away from home - Comfortable rooms (although they could have used a hot pot, better mattress and a couple extra bars of soap - we had to buy our own as we were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A chic and affordable bed & breakfast at the lush east coast. Sea-U is tucked within a lush tropical garden along the seaside slopes of the village of Bathsheba on the east coast of Barbados, the most natural side of the island. Here you can enjoy unspoiled beaches, breathtaking views and mingle with locals. Uschi Wetzels, owner and manager and fell in love with Bathsheba and its friendly people, while working on a Barbados travel guide for a German editor. With hammocks strung between coconut palms, the Atlantic Ocean waves breaking against massive limestone boulders. Sea-U is a place for those who are looking for a decidedly significant change of pace from a busy life. The main house and the cottage are built in a traditional island style out of wood with large patios. The 10 rooms and apartments are decorated with mahogany furniture, louver window treatments, rattan chairs, locally handcrafted clay lamps and batik art. Sea-U's welcoming staff provides knowledgeable information. The atmosphere is relaxed, and guests quickly become friends. Green Globe certified, close to Andromeda Botanical Gardens and world class surfing at Soup Bowl. ... more   less
