Detailed Reviews
I stayed with a walking group. We all found the beds very comfortable and got a good night sleep. The rooms were not too warm and had a radiator which was easily turned up or down. The kitchen was well equipped. There is plenty of parking and there is a drying room. The showers are warm but do not have a particularly high pressure. I liked the privacy of the showers in that each shower was in a single room unlike some other hostels. There is always a member of staff around duirng the day. You can gain easy access to the loch lochy munros and crobetts from here and there are some nice low level walks. Is is just off the great glem way and is only a 30 min drive from Fort william and even less from spean bridge

I stayed at the hostel for one night while walking along the Great Glen Way. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There's also a small shop where you can buy some food and a big kitchen and common room.

The hostel is comfortable with a large dining area and small sofa area. They serve food which is handy if you’re not self catering but the self catering kitchen is far too small. Only fits 2 or 3 people before you start having to do a dance to make a meal. Maybe they are just catering to those doing the Great Glen Way and that business model works best for them. DoRm doors closing and hand dryers are noisy during quiet/sleep times.

This is a lovely building in a great location but the facilities let it down. The water for showers and washing up was only just lukewarm (no explanation given when we mentioned it to the warden). The kitchen for residents is tiny with one small fridge and one kettle. No where to store food. The hostel was quite quiet when we were there and kitchen barely coping! Layout needs a rethink!!

Really good budget place to stay. They provide a small choice of meals or you can self cater. A friendly, well run place. A choice of rooms or beds in dorms. Can also be an emergency camping option if you just need somewhere to pitch and use the facilities. Beware can be a difficult access to busy main road, and will need transport if staying more than couple of nights. Overall though very good, quiet hostel.

My brother & I spent a night here recently in between sharing a fabulous 2 days on local Munros. We were so warmly welcomed and a total joy to continue chat the following morning and hear local news. Facilities were brilliant and just exceptional value for money.

Very friendly staff in comfy hostel. Very reasonable prices for drinks and food for our walking trip. The young warden cooked a delicious burger and chips for my daughter and me and was singing while doing it. Highly recommendable!

Facilities were excellent, showers in particular were great after a day of canoeing. Great kitchen setup, space for multiple groups to cook at the same time. Host kindly offered to drop our bags off at the lock which was much appreciated.

Lovely staff at reception. Standard hostel room with shared bathroom. Nice, warm and cosy. Good location to explore the wonderful views in Caingorms National Park, and see ‘the Harry Potter Bridge’, or the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Highly recommend!

We ate here while staying nearby and were very impressed with the quality of food on offer. Good menu with plenty of choice and a range of drinks (including beers and cider). We sampled fish & chips, nachos and pudding, all good. Definitely worth a stop.
