3rd visit to the ShadyOak and 3rd high rating. This time it was Good Friday and a nice sunny afternoon. We'd been up in the hills and decided on lunch. I had the scampi and Lorraine the lasagne. The lasagne looked and tasted great and came with salad and garlic bread. I boringly chose scampi. I haven't had scampi for...

Took a room on the offchance and were not disappointed. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean warm and large with everything we needed. Hot powerful shower and comfortable bed. Lovely night topped off with super breakfast. Had lovely lunch there too. Try it if you are in the area. Dogs are welcome too.

My friend and I always come herw for a pint, usually on Tuesday. It's our favourite pub to just sit down, talk and laugh. The service is great. Girls behind the bar are always smiling and happy to help. The food is really good. We went there for a meal once with my friends and we all had good time....

The Shady Oak is just south of Whaley Bridge on the A5004. It was recommended by some locals and we weren't disappointed. The empty car park at lunch time is not a good sign but in this case deceiving. The bar displays a good selection of cask ales and the menu is basic pub fare. The food does not appear...

The staff at The Shady Oak go above and beyond to ensure that their guests are looked after. The customer service here is excellent. I was visiting as part of a funeral party, so not the happiest of occasions, but the food, accommodation and friendly staff made the whole experience a more pleasant one. I can highly recommend the Hotpot...

I took my mum to the Peak District for a short hiking getaway in September. Staying at The Shady Oak was a great decision! The location for accessing the park itself was fantastic, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Additionally, the rooms exceeded our expectations- they were stunning, with comfortable beds and gorgeous nature views from our window....
