It was a lunch to remember for all the right reasons. It was our first visit to Barley Bree and although we did not avail ourselves of the accommodation the restaurant had an ambience that was not expected with subdues lighting, wooden floors and windows on to the main road which must have been triple glazed as the passing traffic...

We have gone to the Barley Bree, for a meal and one night stay, for my October birthday every year for the past 3. The rooms are tasteful, understated style and the restaurant experience is second to none - enhanced further by the beautiful art work by Sam MacDonald adorning the walls. I love going there as everything is a...

My wife and I had a beautiful Sunday lunch. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. There is a really nice atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a gem of a hotel. This was my second visit. We will definitely be back.

I have been meaning to visit this place for years. How I've missed out! We went for Sunday lunch and it was quite busy but not too busy. The food was really exceptional. The bread is so tasty. The Merlot I had was wonderful.

Mid-week lunch with friends. We sampled pretty much all the starters, mains and puddings between us and all were excellent, especially the fishcake starter, the pheasant breast main and the cheese. Good wine and service although we could have done with more water on the table. The dining room is quirky but cosy and we pretty much had the place...

We had lunch here a few days ago, on recommendation of friends. So glad we took their advice! I had advised of allergies when we booked, and the waitress explained what was in each of the dishes, so I knew what I could have. We were brought delicious warm, home made bread, with butter for my husband and olive oil...

We booked The Barley Bree for my dads 70th birthday lunch and it was brilliant! There were 16 adults and 5 children and nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding! Most of us opted for the roast beef lunch which came with melt in the mouth roast beef, hand made Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal veg and a...

Almost went by this place while looking for somewhere to stay. As it's right on the corner of this quaint small Scottish village it was easy to miss. It's a lovely small, very friendly place with open fireplace, traditional decor, very clean and the food is amazing. My friend is on a celiac diet and always has trouble finding food...
