Had a few days break here, location lovely, room ok apart from uncomfortable pillows, the hot tap didn’t work or bathroom light, my main issue was COVID inspired breakfast in landfill plastic takeout trays with plastic spoons no fruit or juice, no cleaning service, eating like camping with no reduction in price or table offered to eat at, I don’t even do this at home, such a shame as I’m fairly sure under normal situations we may have had fresh tomatoes or mushrooms with breakfast!
Gorgeous surroundings (despite the rain!) and cozy rooms. Breakfast was tasty and not greasy as can often be the case with English breakfasts. The owners were super friendly, and it's a great point from which to explore North Wales.
Absolutely lovely place to stay. Due to Covid19 unable to eat in main house but had a full English breakfast, served hot with toast and jam, in takeaway containers in our room which was delicious.were treated to a display of the miniature trains running in the garden which is magical for children. There are even Llamas. Nothing was too much trouble for Margaret and Penny. They were fantastic at giving us tips on places to visit and where to park etc. The property is an absolute credit to the owners. Room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. Wonderful.
I have stayed at Old Mill Farmhouse on many occasions over the last 20 years. I would visit with my parents when I was younger and now take my own children. The last time we stopped we were in Blue Lagoon which slept the four of us and our dogs. The room was very clean and perfectly sized for what we needed. The WiFi is great, in fact it's better than what we have at home so the kids were very happy, although they didn't make much use of it as they enjoyed watching the model trains run, visiting the animals and playing in the garden. Breakfast is delicious, my husband and I had a full cooked breakfast and the kids took advantage of the choice and had cereal and toast with bacon and egg. The B&B is set in such an idyllic place with stunning views and plenty of spots to take the dogs for a walk. We highly recommend and will be visiting again very soon!…
Nigel and I enjoyed a Friday and Saturday night in Poppy Fields. A smallish room but this suited us perfectly. Spotless clean, instant hot water, cosy warm towel rail in bathroom, efficient electric radiator in bedroom. We heard no traffic noise and even with the window open this was the occasional car only. WiFi worked a treat too. I read some of the previous reviews and can only say that some people are just damn right rude. This is a hospitality business and of course there has to be a certain amount of organisation in order to accommodate all guests. There is always a wider picture and of course Margaret needs to work towards a schedule. We had the most relaxing weekend, went fishing, ate really lovely breakfasts and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We will most certainly be back next year, would highly recommend, excellent value. Once again thank you Margaret for providing us with the air pump for our slow puncture. :)…
