Sadly this well-known historic pub/restaurant caught fire and is now just a shell of stone. Hopefully the phoenix will rise from the ashes. This used to be a well-frequented place both by visitors to and owners of the log cabins at Trawsfynydd Holiday Village.
The pub has been gutted by fire so I wouldn't be in a hurry to eat there now. When it was open it was fairly ropey anyway but it was the only place you could get a drink for miles around. Now we have to get taxis back from Barmouth
We were staying at the nearby Cabin village the location of this inn was perfect plus they accepted dogs BUT when we arrived the place looked tied and unloved and the staff in the bar/restaurant didn't even acknowledge us or make any friendly or even smile. Not really very welcoming at all. We had a look at the food menu but that too looked tied and unappealing. A friend of mine owns several cabins there and had pre-warned me that the inn was a nightmare but we thought we'd see for ourselves and unfortunately he was right. I don't walk in and straight out of many places but this was one of them.
Stopped here for coffee with a group of friends. Staff were great and the coffee freshly made. Well worth a visit. Place was nice and clean just watch out for sheep poo in the carpark. Slightly off the main road but not difficult to find.
Friendy staff, great location but the decor and furniture needs updating. Place looks empty tired and unloved. The menu is in a time warp. So much could be done to this place to make it a great out of town gastro pub. However at the moment I would not bother going.
