Very rarely these days can one find somewhere that exemplifies old-fashioned values of service, hospitality, cleanliness and comfort PLUS great food. And which doesn’t break the bank. The Three Hills really is wonderful. And they’re dog friendly to boot. We took advantage of their money-off offer to stay during Jan/Feb, had a lovely family lunch and an amazing breakfast the following morning. Now my go-to when visiting Cambridge.

My partner and I walked 8 miles to The Three Hills from our home, taking in an amazing winter sunset from the top of the tallest burial mound nearby (where the pub gets its name from). Our room was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed and more, including crisp white sheets, milk in the fridge and a coffee machine. After a lounge in the bath, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the atmospheric bar before retiring. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and set us up well for the walk home. We'd definitely stay again and will recommend The Three Hills to friends and family.

A three night stay with 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts: outstanding! A delightful long w/e break where we were very well looked after in Rosetta (annex), the bar and orangery. The room was very high quality: Roberts radio (classical music on arrival), coffee machine with wide range of pods and teas, cotton linen, feather duvet and pillows, power shower and neat night light in the bathroom. Some noise is transmitted from first floor rooms. All meals were excellent (separate report submitted) and staff were attentive and helpful. We were well coddled and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the eponymous 3 hills - except there are actually 4 left! A very high quality Inn to which we will be aiming to return.

We had a wonderful overnight stay here. Arriving after a long journey, the room was warm, cozy and clean and even classical music was playing softly. There were extras everywhere. The dogs got their own bed, pillows, bowls, treats and blankets. The humans had water waiting on them, a wonderful coffee machine and fresh milk in a wee fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were good as well. We can definatly recommend a stay here and we will make sure to stay longer the next time we are in the area.

We had a fantastic overnight stay at the Three Hills in Bartlow, staying in Rosetta on the ground floor of the seperate lodge. The room was beautiful and well appointed with smart TV, radio, coffee machine with excellent selection of capsules, and even a silent mini fridge stocked with milk. The shower was roomy and had really good pressure to wake us up in the morning. We travelled with our dog, and had a dog bed, pillow, bowls and treats waiting for her on arrival! We had the vegetarian full english breakfast the next morning, which was excellent quality and the beetroot pudding was a new one for me and really good. Service was really good, warm, friendly and relaxed. Will definitely be back again.

Fantastic! We stayed 2 nights here, eating in both nights, and could not have been happier. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us (and our dogs) feel most at home. Nothing was too much trouble - lighting a fire for us in the lounge one afternoon and warming pastries for us to have with our coffee; adding a sauce to a meal on the menu and posting my forgotten earrings to my home...and much more. The accommodation was excellent - beautifully decorated and furnished, White Co. toiletries and even fresh milk in the mini fridge. Food at breakfast and in the evening was delicious. We are already planning to buy vouchers as a gift for a relative and hope to have the opportunity to stay here again ourselves.

Stayed overnight for a birthday treat and we can highly recommend the Three Hills. The room was warm, stylish and had lots of little details which we really appreciated: nespresso coffee, radio playing classical music when we arrived, such lovely soft towels. The meal in the evening was delicious (and large!) and great atmosphere in the cosy bar area on a wild January evening. The breakfast was excellent too, top quality and cooked to order.

I was a regular visitor to the Three Hills prior to Covid but haven't stayed since early last year so it was nice to be back. I could see that lots of precautions had been put in place to ensure that everything was Covid compliant and this was very reassuring. As always the room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable with good quality linens and the White Company toiletries were a nice touch. It was nice to have fresh milk in the room for tea/coffee which was in a mini fridge so it stayed fresh. The restaurant is closed on a Monday so I was only able to have a continental breakfast, but there was plenty of choice and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

We stayed at The Three Hills for the weekend whilst we were visiting the Chilford Vineyard. This was a long awaited visit due to Covid lockdown and we certainly weren't disappointed. The whole establishment was very welcoming and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a room in the upstairs of the main building which was beautifully decorated with the most comfortable bed excellent shower and many extras like still and sparkling bottled water a wide selection of tea and coffee and complimentary toiletries. We had a most pleasant and relaxing weekend. We would highly recommend The Three Hills.

My family and I stayed here in July for my Mum's 90th. What an amazing place. We were welcomed by the owner Emma who time out to come and speak to us all. We stayed in the Annexe next to the hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. The bathrooms were very new and completely step-free so ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. The chef even came out of the kitchen to write down the recipe of one of his dishes. We had lunch on the Saturday outside under the covered patio which is lovely. The food was really nice and again the staff very attentive. Thank you to Emma and her very friendly and helpful staff for making my Mum's birthday so special. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

I wouldn’t advise walking to Chilford but we are very close - about a ten minute taxi ride away. If we aren’t busy we are always happy to run you up there and pick you up.
There are more places to choose from in the Bartlow area.
