Quiet hotel, comfortable, old colonial style comfort. Close to the airport. Make sure you have a bottle of water for the room though, we couldnt drink the tap water.

We stayed at A Stone's Throw Away for five nights in February. Although only built on it's hilltop location a few years ago, the Colonial style guest house looks to date from the 1800's. We enjoyed our stay there and our comfortable, ocean facing bedroom had french windows opening onto a very wide balcony (deck) which had a day bed...

My wife chose A Stone's Throw Away for our Daughter's wedding in Nassau. We did not want to stay at a name brand hotel or resort because of this being "Spring Break". No offense to the spring breakers. We found A Stone's Throw to be a wonderful B&B that offered all the adminities of a larger hotel. Breakfast cooked to...

My husband and I stayed at A Stone's Throw Away for one night on our way to the Out Islands. It was a great place to ease into the Bahamas. The location was beautiful - the inn is built into a hill, so the views of the ocean were breathtaking. We had a room at the back of inn, so...

My husband and I spent one night at A Stone's Throw Away before departing for Eleuthera. ASTA is close to the airport and is just perfect for stopover stays, it's a beautiful old colonial building that has been lovingly restored and furnished with a very relaxed air about it. Our room was clean and very comfortable - just what was...

My husband and I spent one night at ASTA last week, before departing for Long Island. Near the airport, they provide free transfer to it. Room was very spacious and clean. Dinner was good but not great.Really useful as a stopeover.

My wife and I visited ASTA for an extended weekend (3 nights). It was fantastic. The food was delicious and during our stay the pool was nearly private (no other patrons using it). Nirvana Beach (just down the road) is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and John was happy to give us a ride there and...

I spent one night at ASTA after six days on Eleuthera. I wanted a place near the airport with a little character and style but not a completely bloated price, and this place more than met my expectations. Unique location, beautiful wrap around porches with a number of potential spots to take in the views while sipping a drink or...

We were worried about making a connection back to the US after coming so we chose to be more relaxed about it and fly from Cat Island, spend the night in Nassau and hop on the International flight the next day. I'm glad we did this as it gave us a chance to slowly adjust back to reality (Nassau is...

Picked it partly based on TA review, then recommended by friend who lives in Nassau. Very convenient for airport, great views from top of bluff, bit of a trek into town. Local buses are great fun and great value $1.25 fare to town! But service intermittent and not in evening. Rooms are really nice, good relaxed atmosphere, every friendly ..completely...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the west end of New Providence lies an exquisite hideaway. A STONE'S THROW AWAY is perched on one of the highest elevations by the coast. Here our Guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau 's land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island's natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau. The property was recently built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. ... more   less
