We've visited this resort several times over multiple owners/managers. Highpoints are the property itself (lovely and spacious grounds), the island (one of our favorites in the Caribbean), the quiet beaches (several to pick from), the staff (uniformly gracious) and our room (76) which was newly renovated and first-rate. The low point is some of the food. Zozos at the sugar...

We've never seen let alone stayed at a place like Caneel Bay Resort. The resort itself is inside a national park. There are seven beaches, each as beautiful as the last, from which one can snorkel out and see reefs full of fish and swim with the local sea turtles. Our room was beachfront and the view was literally unbelievable....

Amazing place! Caneel Bay resort ranks as one of my favorite places on Earth. The location is breathtaking. The vibe is relaxing and yet decadent. The staff could not be more accommodating! It is worth the extra cost to stay in a beachfront room. My husband and I woke up each morning to our own private beach where we snorkeled...

Fell in love with the resort's spectacularly gorgeous private beaches - our favorites were Scott Beach (stunning at sunset, since it faces due west), Turtle Bay Beach, and Hawksnest Beach. Excellent snorkeling, with frequent sightings of green sea turtles. Pelicans zipping by and crash landing in the water to scoop up fish...yachts and sailboats cruising along. Always something to see...even...

Caneel Bay is a resort with a personality of it's own. Spread out over the many many acres of the former Rockefeller estate, rooms vary widely in their location, and hence in their proximity to the beaches, restaurants, bars, etc. Shuttles run continually between the room locations, but be sure to take a close look at the property map before...

My husband and took a quick trip to St. John for our 20th anniversary (only stayed 3 nights). We didn't have much time to spend away so we wanted something easy to get to from Atlanta, easy transportation to resort upon arrival, and wanted to stay put in resort to relax and enjoy time to ourselves. Caneel Bay Resort was...

Having walked through the resort a few times in past years while getting to Honeymoon Beach, we had always hoped to return and spend some time at Caneel Bay. We weren't disappointed. From the easy drop off of luggage at the St. Thomas Airport, to the arranged Taxi ride to the Ferry, getting to Caneel Bay was a breeze. We...

For the cost of this resort, I expected far more. The grounds felt dated and in need of upkeep, the rooms were lack-luster. The staff was friendly, transportation throughout the resort was convenient. The wedding attended was lovely, with a delicious meal. Surprised to learn it was a popular celebrity destination.

Now that Rosewood is not managing Caneel, the service has greatly improved. There are more food options/restaurants open, and it feels like the entire space is better used. Of course, rooms have not changed, yes they could be updated, but we love it just the way it is! If anything, they could do with LESS furniture (or smaller pieces) in...

We loved many of the features of this resort such as the private ferry from St. Thomas. We also took full advantage of the facilities and amenities such as the tennis clinic, free snorkeling equipment and massages. This is a place you feel the vibe of generations of loyal families returning. The hiking around the resort is well marked and...
